I know this has nothing to do about anything, but was bored..
From the day it went open till a month ago, I was almost strictly a heavy player. Trying to stuff a battleship worth of weapons into a johnboat so I could faceroll like the rest. Always complaining about cheese builds and weapons ballance, only to get sick of it and cheese it right back.
Then picked up a Raven and started learning it. Took some getting use to (bought and sold 3 before sticking it out), but started to figure it out and how to behave in it. Switched to the jenners recently and like them much better due to less bounce. Then started playing around with jump jets a week or two ago and man its on...
But every since I started playing the lights all the weapon ballance issues I had are gone. I now understand more about the weaknesses in the diff mechs and weapons. Win or loose Im having a blast in these things.
BTW: LOVE the Sarah mech!! That thing is almost perfect stock.

Piloting lights is a very very different experience from any other weight class. Different in the sense that its fun to be so damn maneuverable, zipping around poking people in the back and such.

Agreed. It is a totally different experience even than piloting mediums, even fast mediums.
Light mechs are excellent for those wanting a more twich experience as well as for those that enjoy something that takes alot more skill to pilot in general. It is definately something you want in your stable, if for no other reason that to just change up the game a bit.

Pilot skills in combining JJ and speed, I agree.
Pilot skills in general, I disagree.
If you sit inside an Atlas, you have to think about your moves all the time. Going the wrong street or one step to far, could cause the end of you or your team. There is no time to repair a wrong move, because it is such a big and slow machine, As light, in the most cases, you just change direction or make a jump ... all fine.
