It's common knowledge that a group of lights has always been called a wolf pack, well i would like to draw your attention to the Arachna Pack a group of spider lights.

A very powerful group of lights if co-ordinated and knowledgeable about the map and mech mechanics, but that can be said for any pre-made but a 4 spider ( Arachna ) pack seems to be the chosed pre-made for conquest maps.

They do seem very hard to hit and as a spider pilot i kinda feel that they can take alot more damage than any mech i have ever piloted.

There are a lot of Spider pilots who are going to take a massive blow to their egos when (if) PGI ever gets the hit detection sorted out.

Yeah, because Spider = autowin

I feel sorry for those poor Highlanders every time I drop in my 5D.

Edit: This post may contain sarcasm.

Terrible hitreg and tiny hitboxes are the only reasons spiders are that scary.

I don't know that you guys are talking about my atlas has never had a problem with spiders, yeah a lot of my shots don't register but they do so little damage to me that I have all day to shoot them, unless they have bigger friends that is...

Don't know if I agree.

The 5D is a beast due mostly to having its primary weapons arm mounted with maybe a dash of ECM added in. This really allows it to take advantage of its mobilty while still being able to aim properly and be effective.

The other two variants though...they kind of suck and I found them dying fairly quickly.

Also firepower kind of sucks on all three of them. Even my 5D only runs 2 MPL and a single SL.

Lastly, while I find myself being able to do very well against most heavies and assaults, even mediums, I can't beat a decent Jenner pilot one-on-one. They have the same speed, JJs and more than twice my firepower.

The Spider is a great light mech but definately not "I win".

Just about the only reason you see - clusters, was it? - of Spiders right now is that the general population has clued into the fact that their hitboxes are broken and they can take tremendous amount of damage. In a word, they're very exploitable.

It's almost so bad that they should be taken out of the game until they can be fixed - the only reason it's not quite that bad is that it's Spiders, dagnabbit!. The weakest 'mechs in the game (for a few more weeks until the Flea gets here), and half of the Spider pilots out there wouldn't be playing them at all if it wasn't for their exploitable hitbox bug.

If you want scary, imagine all those Spiders being Jenners instead. Same speed, same armour, jump capable, and with more than twice the firepower. Now that's something to be scared of!

a pack of 4x Jenner F with 6x Med lasers each it's something to not laugh at, specially if they just alpha aim your legs as salute.
They can wreck any assault mech in 4-8 secs and vanish like nothing before anyone notice.

Ofc not autowin but hella easier to win.

If you're dying early you're a terrible light pilot that will really be crushed when hit detection and/or hitboxes are fixed.

While hit detection is making all lights harder to hit, the 5D is by far the easiest light to survive in.

Because the Raven 3l came with massively op ECM with no counters same speed as spiders and weaponry (3xmed lasers) and those little 2x SStreak 2 with guaranted CT hit plus splash dmg.

And folks think PGI don't know what they are doing by changing the Meta every couple of months. They got you, and many like you, to BUY a set of their Spiders.

Gottcha.... LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! :)

Spiders do have hit box issues, but the easy way to take them down is to leg them. Works like a charm. Last night in my jenner F I fought 2 spiders at the same time and killed them both. You have to hit the weak spots.
