Pff. Don't let the people who think joysticks are always less precise run you off.

For instance, a fresh old precision pro (not the force feedback/PPro 2) *optical tracking* joystick is/was just as precise as pretty much virtually any mouse; and that stick is over 10 years old.

You just have to have the patience and the $$ to find a stick that's very precise. You also will have to actually use the stick before you know just how precise it is and how well it works. Reviews are great and all, but it's almost impossible to tell someone how the stick will feel in their hands.
