Any time frame on the Spider hitbox fix? Seriously...they take more damage than a heavy with the hit box bug.

They haven't given any dates as far as I know.

What I dont understand is why this is suddenly such an issue... what the heck did they do in the last patch that ruined hit detection so much?

It is not just spiders either. The probability of issues just goes up the faster and smaller the target.

Also, closer the enemy is, more borked the hit detection will become. So if you got a Spider hugging you, then may God have mercy on your soul.

Oh you know PGI--they fix one thing by breaking another.

I had a K2 dropping damage from like 6 volleys in a row that all seemed to impact his CT.. and he was freaking LEGGED at the time.
This isn't an issue specific to the spider. It's something more widespread, I believe.

Its been in the last patch or two that the problems have been alot worse. Seriously putting a 60 point alpha into a spiders face after he lands from a big jump and you get just yellow all over. Its not even orange or red. Its rediculous!

Having almost mastered spiders (after mastering Jenners), I have to agree but also disagree. Spiders do tend to live a bit longer. However, I have had no end of frustration with getting essentially one to two shot in full armor. One shot is rare, but it still happens. One volley usually strips all armor and brings the section to orange. Arms are destroyed in one hit. Legs on occasion as well (and a Spider with only one leg is dead in seconds).
If you fix hit detection without simultaneously fixing pin-point alpha, all light mechs will become as prevalent, or worse, than medium mechs are now. There are many good twitch gamers who can hit a fast moving mech with all weapons in a fraction of a second. This will limit light mech duty to capping, which is not well rewarded in conquest and frowned upon in assault. Scouting has limited rewards as well and becomes diminished in necessity the further the battle continues.
Should light mechs die quickly to the heavy mech? Of course. But some balance needs to exist. The only reason they're even used at the moment is because they can live due to hitbox issues. Take that away and we'll push the current PPCWarrior meta further.
