What Do You Guys Think Of My Stalker?

Hello everybody, I was just looking for some feedback to my stalker build. I built this in order to retain the original purpose of the stalker: a weapons platform capable of dealing intense damage at any range. Although I took off the LRMs, the large lasers are still very capable of reaching pretty dang far (debating whether or not to switch to ER large lasers). With this build, I typically deal about 250-300+ damage each round. I find it very fun and just wanted to share it and get some feedback. Btw, I chain fire the large lasers in groups of two to help manage heat and avoid the new heat penalties. When combat gets closer or when things get a little too hot, I switch to the medium lasers and SRMs.

Stalkers with 255 STD don't handle well at all. You will be outmaneuvered at close range before you use all that SRM ammo. Also two mlas as backup seems pointless. With four missile hardpoints you could have laid down some hurt. I would recommend a bigger engine, more missiles, fewer LLAS or some number of PPC.

Never run any engine smaller than a 280 in a Stalker if you like living, also never use an XL, which I'm sure you knew!

Here is a much more agile, cooler running version of your mech, but ONLY if you use 3-4 weapon groups to maintain firing. Personally, I'd swap 2 larges for mediums, maybe 4 medium pulse and 2 large, more heat sinks. A 300 engine is my main, but this will suffice.

Looks like a good build, though as others say it's a tad slow.

This is what I'd do. Currently, your heat load at long range is 60% higher than your heat load at short range and my build will make it almost identical (3% difference), ensuring that you are just as large a threat at short range as you are at long range.
Dropping the LL for the extra ML levels everything out and frees up 4 tons, enough to upgrade to a STD280 and an extra heat sink.

Ohh, you wanted BUILD reactions... :)

#1 - you're taking some heat penalties boating four LL's. Keep that in mind.

#2 - Ammo in armor-stripped legs (50points of 72 max? you're almost 1/3 down) seems risky to me. The game is becoming Kneecap-Warrior Online more by the minute.

#3 - 255 engine makes your legs even more vulnerable since you move that much slower.

#4 - I'm still not sure what Artemis is doing - if anything - for SRMs right now. It seems to be negligible.

Overall: LL's instead of ER, heat penalty potentials, medium lasers and SRMs, you're a brawler with a slow engine. I would suggest if you want to be a brawler, look at alternatives; cut the LL's back, maybe run half MLAS half MPULSE and get a faster engine and see if you can boost your armor coverage.

You have more ammo than you will need for those SRMs. You will only be using them when you are about to die anyhow.

The mediums are superfulous. You want to be spamming the LLs. Using the mediums only hinders that.

Art is not needed on the SRMs.

Better IMO

faster, more armor, better efficiency.
