I bought a founder package back in October 2012 and it seems like all I have it 10,000 MC?

It seems like they are doing a new promotion package with new mechs and new in game merch..

Also now the game is free to play? What did I pay for back in 2012?

Founders Package $40 MC
Seems like a waste of my $40??

you paid for access to the closed beta, now its open beta. They were upfront from the start it was going to be a F2P model

You also got a month of premium time (which ended up being two months because of the delay in adding the activation button).

So you got around $40 of MC and about 5,000 MC (roughly $20) worth of premium time. Not a bad deal at all imo.

Phoenix is looking to be epic, considering the cost of mechs when purchased with MC, plus premium and faction badges and such, even the 60$ pack is worth something like 150$

Don't forget they also lied to the founders about the mechs they would be receiving. Nice little bait and switch to somehow hope that despite being scammed out of your awesome looking founders mechs by turning them to poop colors, that you would be foolish enough to want to buy the phoenix pack to replace them.

Honestly you got what you paid for, and exactly what they said you would get.. If you cant figure that out, well you must have a hard time with life.

What?

Wait a minute...

They told me I'd get an Atlas-D, a Catapult-C1, a Hunchback-G and a Jenner-D. All of them with a 25 % c-bill bonus. Guess what? I got all that! They never promised me anything else or different.

Not to mention, you werent even here when those packages were sold. At least not with that account. Should I know about any others?

As the others have said, the founders package was advertised with:
- a variabale amount of premium time, dependend on package size (and we even got some extra)
- a variabale amount of MC, dependend on package size
- no, one or four mechs with a build in 25 % c-bill bonus, dependend on package size
- early access to the closed beta, which ended in october last year

All of that was given to the players, who opted to buy such a package. Nothing else was promised. And I like what they are doing with the paintjobs of the founder mechs currently.

I like the new package, my own issue with it is having to buy each teir to get the mech I want (TDR)... THe main reason I haven't purchased the package along with some recent design tweaks. If I could have just bought the TDR package like they did with Founders, I would have already thrown my money at them.

The Founder's Program was a way to buy some in-game assets early in the Game's Development Cycle, and also anyone who bought a Founder's pack was guaranteed early access to the Closed Beta after a certain date (whereas before that date, the only people who were given Closed Beta Access had to be drawn from a lottery based on System Specs and stuff like that).

The Founder's Packs all came with a particular special-skinned Mech Variant with a normal hardpoint configuration (or more than 1 Mech, if you bought an upper-tier Pack) that has a permanent 25% C-Bill Boost for every Match you drop in it, and the Founders Mechs came with their own free Mechbays. The packs also came with a bunch of MC and a lot of Premium Time (the premium time and the MC were constantly refreshed throughout the entire Closed Beta, and the Premium time was also refreshed several times after that, too). The Highest-Tier of Founder's Packs also got your name in the Game Credits as a gesture of appreciation for financially-supporting the game with over $100 before it even launched.

The Phoenix Packs are similar to the Founders Packs - It's a chance to buy a bunch of Premium Time and suites of Bonus'd Mechs. The special Mechs in the Phoenix Packs have a custom skin, 30% C-bill boost, and a 10% Loyalty Boost (something that will help you advance through the faction Loyalty system faster in Community Warfare), but as before they have a normal hardpoint layout (they are not like Hero Mechs with unique weapon placements). This time, though, the Phoenix Packs come with not only the Boosted Mechs with special skins, but they also come paired with additional standard variants of normal color with no bonuses for each Phoenix Mech so you can easily get on track to leveling them all up... and that's a bunch of free Mechbays, there, too.

The game has always been Free to Play from the point they opened it up to the public, and it was free to play before that, too, if you were chosen to help participate in the Closed Beta ;-) You can always play the game without paying anything, but you can buy stuff with cash to increase your user enjoyment (such as buying Mechs with custom skins, buying Premium Time to increase c-bill and xp-payouts, cockpit items, and stuff like that).

I am going to move this thread over to the MetaGame section of the forums that deals with Sales, the in-game Economy, Mission Rewards, and stuff like that.

Well in my objective point of view, the 50$ package wasn't worth it. Should have taken elite or legendary. I think I would have been spiteful if I took the veteran package. I'm happy with my founder's AS7-D ^.^

You paid to SUPPORT THE GAME. It's an investment. That's what founders is all about. You didn't "pay" you invested.

I won't lie, looking back I wish I had bought the next level up. I've really enjoyed the Jenner D, and the cbill bonus would have been sweet. It's the same story as the Phoenix package now.

wait you bought something for $40 without knowing anything about it and then you show up a year later and wonder about it? Were you drunk? Are you drunk now?

The best part? A PGI employee stated we can NEVER sell our non-founder PP mechs or reuse those mech bays....

Figures they'd rake in all that fat loot without mentioning this, after seeing MANY people posting how they might sell some of those garbage Locusts for the bay slot, yet never mention that one little caveat.

If this goes live, I swear on my children I'll never give these people another dime.

You're worried about selling mechs for a $1.25 mech bay??? Get a job, grouch...

I will believe the statement about not being able to sell the standard versions when it is stated in a way that is more open. Right now all we have is someone stating that he received an email saying so. Not that I am disbelieving, I just prefer solid proof.

Functionally, however, they don't take up a mechbay. They exist in addition to your mechbays, like (F) mechs.
