All in all, few nitpicks aside, im satisfied. Brawling is possible and more enjoyable now. Sniping is still fun and effective. LRM support is certainly viable, especially with UAV.

I agree, overall weapon balance is probably the best it has been since I've been playing- closed beta. A few tweaks here and there to certain weapons and it is pretty good.

Is this because they are all running PPC/Gauss combos now, or that enemy teams are hard to find?

i'm seeing a bunch of stalkers with various mixed weapons like

PPCs Large Lasers and SRMs


instead of straight up LL or PPCs
pretty refreshing

i for one am very enthused that my 2xMPL 1xLPL dragon finally gets a chance to shine over all this 6xSRM2, LRM10+LRM10+LRM15 and 3xERLL cheese. 10/10 would download patch again

For the most part I agree with the OP. I just hope they figure out how to explain the multi weapon heat pen in the UI 2.0.

I did have to deal with a misery that had guns that could shoot under 90 meters and it was pretty horrible

lulz - like that's true. If a LRM boat is within 250m its doing it wrong.

I have seen more brawling, but its still far too dominated by PPC for my liking. I mean when every mech carries one....

Agreed. Despite what the semi-professional troll team that haunts these boards would have you believe, I think things are moving along very well. Just rocked a few games with my dragon and surprised 2 juicy LRM boats. Also able to get some mileage out of the good old SRM DDC again. Thumbs up guys.

Hah, no indeed! But I don't think we're in any danger of that now. I mean, before the nerf when splash damage was looked at, I was basically one shotting Jagers with the normal 3srm 2ml ac20 build. It's strong again now, but NOWHERE near that strong.
