How About /unstuck ?

I'm getting stuck on terrain a lot lately where I'm forced to ALT-F4 out because I can't move and staring at the snow waiting for a light to butt hump me isn't fun.

I don't care how it works, fire me out like a canon ball and I'll take the leg damage, hover up 100 M and move over which ever way you're facing a few M. Move me back to spawn. Something; anything other than the snow/buliding/rock crack.

The problem is in a game like this, people would just use it to jump out of fights (unless it had like a 20 second delay on it or something).

I once died to being out of bounds while stuck on weird terrain geography.

when you get stuck stuck, alot of time if you powerdown the mech (press P) let it "settle" completely, then power back up, would usually unstuck you

Well, of course there should be a delay. I play NS2 on *SHAMELESS PLUG* these servers where I'm an admin. We have a /stuck plugin that has a timer on it, if it didn't it would be abused all to hell. I'm all for a timer but give us something.

Haha, reminds me of a time I got pinned into a wall by a catapult in my cicada... just kept rubber banding right back in front of him.

I think the terrain needs to be smoothed out a bit, might just be a problem with cryengine instead of the actual game though. Hate stepping on a rock and rubber banding/taking damage for it.

I'll have to try that, but I've only been stuck once, between buildings below the starport base in River City. I could pivot, move my torso, and fire weapons, but could not move. I didn't have my screen cap software active but I believe the spot was like coordinates 2445/2446 - 1500 or so. Something like that, if someone would like to try to find the spot. An alley way between buildings near the base of the ramp.

I can imagine someone in a light duel using this as a random teleporter. Might not be a good idea. I prefer good old fashioned, identify the trouble spots and actually fix the terrain meshes instead of imparting a warp function to move stuck players.

I agree that this would be the ideal, but would also take way more time to fix than some kind of bandaid /unstuck and you're back at spawn or whatever. I mean, it can't be any worse than people just ALT-F4ing out right?

Getting stuck sucks - I've had it happen more times than I care to count. Make sure you report it each time so that they can fix it.

When knockdowns were still in, you could get someone to come knock you over to get unstuck. I've been lucky lately and haven't gotten stuck on anything( maybe I just know what to avoid now), but if it happens again I'll have to try the shutdown thing.

Ohh this is a great idea, seriously I can put this to a macro on my mouse and when anyone shoots at me I can move 10 yards to the left, See how those sneaky Ravens like it when an Atlas starts Lag jumping around :D

Also try reverse. I've been getting stuck more lately myself. Time consuming but it has worked the ~3 times I've been stuck on terrain.

I thought it was a feature. I would expect my foot to get stuck once in a while. Usually takes me about a minute or so to maneuver out of the pothole.

I got stuck today in one of the big water tanks in Caustic Valley, took ages to get out of it in my Atlas. Can Commando's hide completely in there and jump out at base cappers? Be like having a naked girl jump out of a giant cake but far funnier.

I got stuck with my Awesome (with its stubby legs) in several locations in River City - it does happen and possibly also is related to the chassis model.

What I did was:
F9 for location info, screenshot, sent to report.

Now all I will do when I have the opportunity is revisit those spots to see if they got fixed.

Do you really think it would be necessary to move someone 10 yards to get unstuck???
