the larger the engine the larger the heat cap and that way they can bring true double heat sinks into the game.

wouldn't this ultimately gimp mediums and lights even more?

Not to mention the fact that the majority of heavies and assaults already pack pretty close to the largest engine they can.

How about a hard cap of 30-50? DHS are true doubles, but don't increase the threshold. SHS increase the threshold, so they don't become completely redundant? Also a bit easier on the trial mechs for the new players.

"Let's just nerf the newbies... clearly they aren't handicapped enough."

Like every bad balance suggestion, these things are never thought out longer than the initial moments of putting the idea together.

Should be other way round - larger engine would generate more heat so heat cap should be reduced for bigger mechs.. ..IF this even was considered. (Not endorsing this idea myself..)

well this way a larger engine supports more heat, then they can actually add true double heat sinks to the game without gimping lights.

Its better than this "oh if you fire more than x amount of weapons you randomly make more ****** heat"

if you think lights are gimp you need better meds, lights meds seem fine in my eyes, since you can already take on assaults without worry.

No. It would wreck lights/mediums even more relative to the big guys.

Light's can't even fit the amount of guns that the mediums and up can anyways, and they will have true double heat sinks, it won't wreck anything, it will even things out.
