You need to do a little research:
This is sci-fi, and an AMAZING setting for a large Mech battle.Posted Image

Different? Does Alpine have anything in the sky right now?

LOL.

Their map designers are the worst. They have NO artistic vision. How hard would it be to add some planets to the horizon? Maybe a few large capital dropships in the sky...Something. They were all proud of the "massive communication towers atop hills" in Alpine!...it's so sad.

I'm playing a FPS game on my cell phone that has better map design than MWO. How messed up is that?

What about Frozen City Night? :/ It's got a really pretty aurora borealis in the sky! And it even twinkles a bit!

They need to keep one important thing in mind; with so many different planets, different atmospheres, environments as is available in battletech lore, they should NOT limit themselves to earth-like scenarios/maps.

Terraforming. Most planets with life are going to be very earth like.

Ones that have been colonized for a long time, yes. Military conflicts often take place away from population centers though, to sieze control of things like mines and other natural resource gathering facilities. On planetoids and moons where the environment is extremely hostile terraforming of the entire moon would be largely impractical. There would be domed or subterranean structures with self contained atmospheres. So fighting on a cloudy moon with orange fog and 500m of visibility is still pretty viable as an environmental option.

Cities? Yep, I agree. terraformed.
Strategic targets? Not necessarily.

Wut? Are you advertising something or proving a point about something no one mentioned?

Edit: Yep, advertsing. :(

Can't believe I clicked on this dire post. Learn to put a proper post title. I was hoping for some kind of whine.
