What Huh? Clairfy. If you are talking about going from Inner Sphere to Clan. Most like you unlock that when it releases and you start a fresh character. If you are talking about going from Lone Wolf to Merc Corp or House faction i figure that would be possible without starting fresh. Maybe going from House faction to lone wolf or merc corp? I don't know, we will have to play the game to find out.

hm i´d rather like to know, if there will be a possibility to "betray" your house and join another one, or a merchcorp and the other way round? but i don´t think anybody knows right now, who could tell me

I thought it was discussed in the Q/A section.
The mechs belong to a person/pilot not a clan, unit or house. Mechs should go where you go.

I read it somewhere, they said you would be allowed to change factions but it would come at a cost. Given that you are building up loyalty points with whichever faction I'm assuming you'll have to start back at the bottom of the ladder wherever you go.

Can a Merc players ALSO be faction player, as in belonging to a Merc Corp AND faction rank? –Agasutin
[PAUL] Once you’ve decided on your role in the Community Warfare aspect of MWO, you stay in that role. It is possible to switch but it is not possible to be in multiple roles at the same time.

You probably lose rank and all your faction points. It's not an easy decision to make.

I can see you losing almost everything when you switch to the Clans - maybe carry over some C-bills. What Clan mechwarrior would be piloting IS mechs. Maybe you can "swap" them for some second line units (ie II C) to start with, and have to buy or work up to the Omnimechs.

I think in one of the devblogs or Q&As they said if you switch you keep everything (it's yours after all) but it resets your loyalty points and rank in a faction or merc corp. I'm pretty sure that's how it'll work but not certain if that's what they actually said.

I thought they said a while back that you'd be able to always change between one faction or another, however there were going to be rather expensive costs involved in doing so in order to prevent people from being overly nomadic.

No clans, but if there is House selected purchase, I would like to steal some Stiener mechs and take them to the FRR.
I mean, uhh.....
