Please consider separating premade groups and pick up groups please. It is not fair to solo players or even clan players that just want some quick solo action. It gets pretty bad at certain hours, to where I can only play during the off hours to find a PUG vs PUG match. Premades should play against other premades and stop bullying PUGs. Focus fire and voice chat alone give the PUG no chance. Thank you.

Oh here we go again...
In no time here will be people who'll mock, taunt and troll you. They'll tell you that "you're whining after got stomped", "you're complaining about a teamwork in a team-based game", "teamwork is OP, so is skill, nerf skill!" etc... Ignore them. They are mediocre players, and they know it. PUGstomp is one of few ways they have too boost their petty egos.

Speaking on the substance of the problem: separate PUG and premade queues were requested for millenia, but all these requests were ignored. So, apparently, it works as intended. I mean new players running away from this game in droves after meeting a squad of squawkers is the way it should be, or so it seems.
Integrated voice chat would help, but there's no sign of it in forseeable future (damn, even Hawken, with its 100 times smaller player base has it)... So we're stuck.

They did separate them. No one plays in the 8-man queue.

Because they're doing it wrong ;)
There should be solo queue and mixed queue, and ability to choose in which one to play. Solo queue should be enabled by default for new players. This way one can become "filler" for team vs team games only if that is his/her conscious choice.

Glad to see the sync-drop crowd weighing in on the discussion.

Lol, I dropped with a 4 man pre made and lolled as they ran one at a time (it seemed) into the entire enemy team and were dead with less than 2 minutes gone (Forest Colony). I don't worry about them as they can be stomped just as easy.

I do however often wonder when we get the odd sync drop fail (one on our team the rest on the other) if they are feeding tactical info to their mates.

Ya, the problem is that the queue separation they made is terribad.

Rather than the 8 man queue, and requiring that folks have exactly 8 people, or no more than 4, is terrible.

It would make far more sense to make a solo queue for lone players, and let all of the rest of us drop in a single queue, regardless of how big our team is.

Drunken/trolling premades also happen. However, a lance in try-hard mode is typically worth 8 random PUGs.

If you're losing matches to the Goons, you're doing it wrong.

The 8 man queue is pretty full in US prime time....this is where you'll end up meeting the toughest competition. The solo queue during those times, usually has the best players IN the 8 man queue. Most of the people I know that play competitively, use the PUG queue to test out new / different builds. Most of us don't even touch our min/maxed builds unless we're doing comp drops.

This complaint has been going on since closed beta. Splitting the queue would be a death sentence for the game, with failed matches, and poor reviews upon release. The only time you'll see the queue separated will be after the public release....IF they even decide to do it. So buck up, and learn from your mistakes. It seriously takes 30 seconds to download teamspeak 3 and get into the NGNG server and find a couple people to play with.

I'd rather get paired with pre-mades than have to wait 10 minutes to find a match

You wait so long, because the matchmaker can't find players to put up vs the all-assault or all-light premade.

Do you have anything conclusive that gives this statement any credibility?

A premade means up to 4 high-ELO players in one match. The matchmaker can't put them against each other, instead having to look for many equally high-ELO players. Add any weird weight distribution, and you end up with a serious matching problem.

Again, do you have anything solid that backs this up? I see where you're coming from, but without anything substantial to back it up, you're just talking out your a$$.... I drop in the solo queue quite a bit during the day, before US prime time, and wait longer then, than I do in 4 man groups in US prime time. I could make guesses all day long as to why that is, but, it'd be just that. A guess, without something conclusive to back up my statement.

It would be nice to have separate queues, however we only even have 2 game modes right now. I myself would love a better queue filter. I also think some some sort of LFG flagging or group search option would work well. Even a lobby for partly filled teams who are looking for members would work. However I see balancing game mechanics to be more important than grouping right now. I have only grouped twice since the beginning of closed beta. The fact is that we will most likely get better grouping options and more game modes after community warfare is introduced. It will probably be part of a big overhaul.

what mistakes? dropping PUG against a premade? I've certainly learnt from that pug+teams sucks and creates a horribly inbalanced match for the PUG side.

All they need to do is fix the team queue so that it doesnt have 8 ecm atlas vs a mixed band and it'd be fine.

Alternatively, (rather the first option but this is definitely better than current) make sure there is a team on EACH SIDE. that would at least have a somewhat balanced match although PUGS will still get stomped, just not the entire team.

It was only because of the constant complaining that we dont still have 8 man premades in the PUG queue.

Every match has something you can take from it.....if you're no longer learning anything, you must be a LOT better pilot than I am. I try to take something from each and every match. I record most of my matches so I can rewatch them, and figure out what to do better next time. True wisdom comes in knowing that you know nothing.

Yes, weight matching seems to come secondary to the flawed ELO system. An ELO score based off wins / losses is catastrophically stupid in a team based game where about half the players drop in a solo queue.

The 8 man queue is fine.....if you drop against someone trolling with 8 assaults, so be it. That's the way it goes sometimes. Most of the 8 man teams that run US prime time know each other, and MOST of them have enough respect to NOT run this kind of crap. But you do occasionally run into the trolls. I won't mention any specific units...they know who they are.

One final note: This is a TEAM game based game. You NEED teamwork in order to play and win on a consistent basis. So either get in TS and drop with a group so you can use comms, or quit bitching about getting your a$$ kicked by people who DO play the game as it was intended to be played. USING TEAMWORK. Just go to the NGNG server, there are PLENTY of very friendly people that will be more than willing to let you tag along with them. I used to play with the guys from ARMD very late at night, because nobody in my unit was dropping. There are usually a LOT of people playing on that server. Go have a blast. 30 seconds to download teamspeak, or 10 minutes of a$$ kickin by the UBER BAD, SUPER EVIL PREMADES. /rolls eyes

well, with a decent premade most games dont get passed the "focus fire wins matches" lesson so no im not learning anything new from them. I guess the other main lesson you pick up from watching PUG after PUG get decimated is "stick to ONE target". Theres a reason lions/leopards etc pick a target and stick with it.

(i certainly have a lot to learn ofc).
