The one and only reason I insist on a standard power plant is because of my Unit leader.

He has mastered nearly every chassis, but Jagers were his first to get modules. In team play he could rack up 1000 damage, 6 kills and be disappointed with half of that.

But most of the time and nearly always in pugs when players aren't well coordinated, he got his ribs blown out early and often.

He got so frustrated he didn't bother doing what I'm about to do, he just went on until he found his soul mate in an Atlas D! B)

I'm looking forward to dropping in 4 mans with him in the Devil's Ride to kind of test it on his behalf. He'll get to see this beast I'm building all standard, sink or swim.

Oh! And grind that 30% currency till I get my Phoenix mechs!

Yeah, thats the problem with all XL's and the Jager has a large/wide torso and cant really block with its arms of course, still, with a co-ordinated team or a good enough one in a pug, you can blow the hell out of someone either from far enough away they never see you or close-in while they are focusing on the "more dangerous" assaults.

Described how I've been enjoying my firebrand the past month. I play solo and as long as there's something more scary looking in front of me I just dismantle people.. taking multiple arms off, extreme amounts of cockpit kills too. Once won a losing game 2v4 by cockpit-shotting 3 of them as soon as they entered my line of fire.. was amazing. Times like that I wish I had some video recording thing running 24/7

FWIW, I have played a firebrand for the past week, 43 PUG battles. I'm not a great player or anything. I'm just using the stock firebrand, with 2x ac/2 2xPPC, 2xmedpulse and XL engine.

To be honest, I find that in PUG matches, that it is my centre torso that gets blown out mostly, I don't think there have been many cases at all where I have died from losing my side torso / XL engine. I'm not often getting hit from the side in this mech, i'm often at 200m+ range to make full use of the PPCs, rather than up close circling and brawling, and at larger distances, people just aim for my centre, at least in PUG matches.

I quite like the stock build - thought about changing it, but it seems to work for me, though I have a habit of over-using the ac/2s and running out of ammo. They are just so fun though.

Runs way too hot, I'd go regular mediums and get more ammo and such. I like the Dakka though! B)

FIREBRAND

Pretty bland and cookie cutter, but I pretty much use this build on my K2 (with an XL of course though)

This is what I have been using: FIREBRAND
STD300 with 2 LL and 4 ML. It isn't the DPS spewer that a lot of other firebrand builds are, but it's fast, durable, and runs decently cool for an all energy build, pretty much everything you need in 12V12
