After being really frustrated, because my weapon doors where closed on arms, finally someone told me what was wrong. Sad thing is, when I press / to open weapon doors, I hear a small beep, and NOWHERE does the game indicate weather they are open or closed. Also the control is NOT listed in game settings, only on the tutorial for commands. WTF? It seems like a cheesy pointless adition to the game, and to make it worse, I assume 90% of new players, will have NO CLUE why a particular wepon shoots .5 seconds late. BOOOO.

You're right, most people don't notice the doors. Rarely do I bother to open mine ahead of time. However, A.) they're canon and B.) they DO increase your armor.

But I agree, the control for this option should be listed. Then again, a proper tutorial is needed as well, which we've been told is coming.

Strange, I found the control listed but I had to scroll down.

You're right, though, the game needs a more clear indication. However PGI has chosen to avoid the ever so obvious "MISSILE DOORS CLOSED" sign that people have all-out begged for.

Look for a small light that changes color when you press the button. Should go from red to green.

Yellow to green.

It's red when destroyed.

its actually yellow to green. its a fairly subtle change. usually the lights are on the bars on the window about a third of the screen up from the bottom.

the only mechs that have the doors and lights currently are the Centurion, Stalker (arms only), and Catapult.

Hmm I missed the doors as well on my Catapult.

I assume that they stay open until I manually close them once opened?

If depth of field is disabled, it's nearly impossible to tell what colour it is as it's just a white dot, and all that changes is one pixel goes from black to white (literally). Depth of field for some reason adds the "glow" as well (not to be confused with Blur). I turned it back on just so I can enjoy the nice orange glow from the lava in Lava Land.

It's irking my that PGI still insists that it's a good enough excuse for an indicator. Like atleast make it like a traffic light so we can go by position. And faint yellow to faint green? Ridiculous. Anyways. All of these points and more have been covered ad nauseam [linking just in case an innocent dev that needs a good idea passes by]. It just gets me riled up sometimes how PGI can simply cover there eyes and tell us "There is nothing wrong." - ANYTHING would be better.

Supposedly once UI2.0 is released they will commence work on HUD2.0 where the Doors and about a thousand other things will be addressed. Since I drive a Catapult quite a bit I just got used to it. Slap "/" before moving mech at game start... ignore. Heck I've even caught myself doing it with my Quickdraw and Victor.

The only thing to watch is that if your doors are open and that location gets hit you have a higher chance to lose that weapon due to crits.
