Hypothetically speaking...

If PGI decided that they were going to add one fan requested mech into the game (BUT ONLY ONE), which one would you want to see?

The Poll is only King Crab or Urbanmech because those 2 seem to be INCREDIBLY hot right now (Urbanmechs actually been popular for ages) on the forums.

So...Which one is it...

King Crab, dropping in an urbie is like telling your team that they are down one mech. Would instantly be the worst mech in this game.

Ok, normally I agree because of the rather abysimal stats in sarna, but let look at this from a MWO (balance) standpoint.

Devils Advocate...
If the Urbanmech was implemented, I am sure certain configs would be capable of over the cannon 34kph. I would think a "FAST" Urbanmech would be capable of speeds of at least 90+ kph if not over 100kph. It's isn't light fast, but still survivable. If it can do this with a good ballistic, it would make a good mobile sniper at the least.

The King Crab (by many people's claims) would be too lethargic to be terribly effective (at least with dual A/C20s). They claim it would be too slow and too sluggish to aim properly or get out of danger. I also believe any mech capable of carrying that loadout would be relatively lightly armored for an assault.

Just food for thought.

Neither, I wanted to vote for the 50 ton Crab, since you didn't specify King Crab in the title. :)

Even at 100 kph the urbie would be slaughtered by any other light or especially medium that finds it... its only chance would be if it had great jump power and we actually got a massive urban map that allowed it to hide in buildings and such (Destroyable terrain please!). The King Crab would a 100 ton walking death machine with at least some ability to hold its own.

The Urbanmech can work as a non-canon 35-tonner with a top speed of 64 kph some very significant perks.

I say both but realistically, the Urbie is a joke.
The King Crab would fit well into the 100 ton slot.

Urbanmech with serious perks. 360degree torso rotation, for instance, is a must. Jump shoot stabilization would be nice too. And, to reflect lore, it should count in the matchmaker as a 10 ton 'mech.

I'm suprised how neck and neck this poll is. I figured the Urbanmech would walk away with a clear victory. It has a lot of love on this forum.

The Urbanmech would definently not be a light killer. It would be more of an Assault or Heavy harraser. I agree, an urban enviroment with tight corners and hiding spots would suit it better.

I like the idea of a King Crab (come on, dual A/C20s), but with the Assault Online meta, I don't feel we would need an Uber Assault. Even with it's downfalls, it would result in half a team running with these things every drop.

Maybe a King Crab with Dual A/C10s would allow for enough engine and armor to be worth while. Then again, a quick small Urbanmech with a big gun might be a nice Assault harraser (assuming it ultimately has some sort of speed).

Because that isn't the scenario  You must choose no matter how painful. Come on, even parents know they have a favorite kid no matter how much they love all of them
