My music is different depending on the mech. Nowadays I only really pilot my Death Snail and Dragon Slayer, so I'll give you those two:

For the death snail:

Fast mech? Fast music!

For the dragon slayer:

the beat is perfect with my victor's footsteps at top speed.

Especially if I'm running a light and shooting a lot of guys in the back... You gotta listen to tough guy music like this.

So much Girl talk. Also some Ke$ha and assorted pop. I like to imagine that I can troll the enemy by blasting it over my speakers as I murder them in a light mech ;)

But seriously, movie soundtracks are where it's at.

Alan Silvestri - My First Bus Ride from The Mummy Returns will be blasting as me, my brother, and my brother in law drop for the first time in the full regalia of the Federated Suns.

Aside from some choice cuts from MW2/GBL/Mercs I have been doing robot fights to the Blood Dragon soundtrack and the new Shadowrun Returns soundtrack since it released on the 25th of July.

I also throw in some classical (Wagner & Holst), 90s rock (Soundgarden & Smashing Pumpkins) and some background music drum and bass & dub step from time to time.

IMO, the Armored Core series along with the Arc Tonelico RPGs have the best music ever put into a game.

This is Daggerfall music, for anyone old like me. Really i think if you played MW2 when it was brand new, you probably at least heard of Daggerfall, and if you are like me, mechwarrior2 and Daggerfall pretty much summed up PC playtime.

Robert C. Hood has reworked a fair share of the tracks from DF. while they were great in MIDI, they are superb in a remastered form. A lot of people suggested some of this go into the next Elder Scrolls. Anyway, this is part of a playlist, and happens to repeat.

Havent gotten this into my library yet. I probably should soon before it gets taken down off youtube.

As a pilot of an Awesome, the soundtracks I listen to must also be AWESOME.
Here's what happens when I begin the match.
  • At the power-up phase, when my mech begins to march along with other mechs:
  • When my team encounters enemy contact:
  • When my team is at a disadvantage, but pushing forward strong:
  • Adrenaline rush, when the fight gets intense:
  • When I encounter enemy mechs trying to kill me:
  • When we're commencing search and destroy for the remnants of the enemy team:
  • When I'm the last mech standing:
  • When my mech is destroyed:

Note: Frank Klepacki and Hans Zimmer's music define the genre of AWESOME. WORSHIP IT.

I've recently added this to my battle music playlist http://www.youtube.c...bed/V6nbFZtxAL4

But it also includes stuff like http://www.youtube.c...bed/xzWJvDTfWyc Though youtube is horrible for finding her collection, so that song isn't actually on my list...

And this http://www.youtube.c...bed/3moLkjvhEu0 Can you tell I'm a tad eclectic yet?

And also http://youtu.be/9SSUQxGjZZ4

And a whole bunch of http://youtu.be/BxgeSv88c2w that whole album has some great kicking some *** music...
