Hi guys, I've been playing MWO since August 2012, but one thing has always eluded me. While in most circumstances I never struggle with the control of my weapons, I find that having a flamer or a machine gun equipped uses up a "precious" mouse button slot, usually I assign it to holding left click.

I would like to know if any of you have a way to toggle a weapon group to fire on and off. For example, press "F" once and flamers stay on, press "F" again and flamers turn off. Not only would a solution to this problem allow me to activate flamers/machine-guns to be on and off, but im sure it could be applied to the Arm Lock function, which as it currently stands isn't a proper toggle, but actually you have to hold the key down.

Many, many thanks in advance!

Only way to do that at the moment would be a macro.

You could try assigning left control to a weapon group. Or space if you don't use jump jets.
Or get a different mouse. Thumb ball and four buttons + wheel works wonders.

This was a problem in the console Gundam games too. It is technically more efficient to spam those dinky little head Vulcans as you fought, but you had to hideously abuse your hands in order to hold down those buttons while firing and maneuvering your Mobile Suit.

Ahhh... memories.

*ahem*

So, yeah, macros. People do the same thing with TAG lasers.

You could always use something like this? I frequently use 4 or 5 trigger groups now, plus I have my over-ride shutdown key, my targetting key, and consumable modules mapped on mine.
