Agreed 100%... Until I read this I assumed it was supposed to work that way. I say leave it the way it is

I agree leave it as is. If you do allow 3rd person viewing, make so its only when the mech you are viewing is in third person.
If a dead player is allowed to view 3rd person while the still alive player is in first person view, those on comms will be able to provide situational awareness that is suppose to be mitigated by the drone and removal of minimap.
