Honestly I hope all of my opponents use this as implemented on the test server. Its worthless. Your accuracy is way off. You seem to move slower when turning. The zoom doesnt seem to go in as far and no minimap. Please let all the 3PV have it as is so I can rofl stomp them while they are saying "Ooooh look at the back of my mechs head...."

There's plenty in the test area threads.

3PV is bad. both a waste of resources for helping newbs (can't often see your legs, can't shoot accurately in a brawl, cursor thrown off by intervening terrain/mechs) and allows people to view huge sections of the map without being exposed (look over/to the side of obstacles with ease).

What a bunch of crap.

If it stays like it is, I might not have much of a problem with it. Also, those drones are actually kinda a cool touch.

I hate it, makes almost everything harder. Cross-hair bounces all around based on distance. You get cross-hair bounce on each step as well. Not too bad on slower mechs but on the faster ones it gets old fast. Maybe I am just too used to 1PV but I really felt gimped using it.

Don't you know that most of PGI's job revolves around running off potential customers? Now their running off current players. There is no way I'm playing this with 3PV, I'll just switch to Hawken if I want 3PV.

You know instead of coming up with worthless features why not devote time into a tutorial.

I have not seen the vids but a unit member of ours was in it and he was laughing his arse off and described on how horrible it is. All I have to say is this, if what our friend says is true, all those who were crying for 3PV, please, by all means use it, make my job of killing you so much easier. B)

Now I agree, the 3PV was just a complete wast of time when we have far more important things that needs to be addressed.

When I first heard of 3pv I was like "how in the world could that be a good thing?" Then to my supprise, people where worried about it being "better" for PvP.... and I was confused....

What where they seeing that I wasn't?

I guess nothing. lol.

I don't see third person view as being particularly helpful for new players.

However, good players are going to use it by flipping it on to look around corners, and then immediately flipping it off.

Or look over hills to spot ambushes. Or any other advantage. I'm done. When I finally log off this will be the final logoff. They are completely inept developers.

Actually, in some mechs I found that 3rd person view was actually a major benefit, even with the fact I didn't have a clue how to turn off my arm lock.

In my Jenner for example I wrecked the enemy easily. 3rd person allowed me much better control over navigating terrain and helped prevent me from getting hung up on things. Additionally my ability to jump was much more precise and controled. Finally, I had much better situational awareness due to the field of view which allowed me to set up my attacks and escapes much more efficiently.

However I have to admit that the lack of minimap was a tad bit of an issue but definately not insurmountable.

Might make a "minor" difference on pogo- and missilewarriors.

At least if it gets implemented, let me freely fly my drone around, so I can take decent screenshots of my mech... B)

Shhhhh don't let the secret out, it is obvious in this thread that OP and some other people can't figure out how it will be abused.

Oh look, who could have guessed that... you can look beyond obstacles and get targets, from the look of it you can also lock missiles from there.

But there is no minimap so it is balanced.
