However,
There is one thing that I think MW4 got right and that is a background piloting skill roll.
If you were hit hard, and I mean really hard, by LRMs or a ballistic/heavy ballistic, or a shot in the kneecap ir smacked hard in the back by PPC's. The game would do a pilot skill roll transparently to decide how far your torso was twisted or pushed from its current position or whether you were thrown flat into the mud.
Now we have cockpit chatter atm but its not so bad as to completely throw your aim off. In fact if you pay close attention to your targeting reticule it never actually moves from where your pointing it so while your view is jumping around you can still fire on the 'Mech in front of you. technically we have perfect aim will the gfx are manipulated to look like we are being shaken.
What I'm suggesting is a re-introduction of PIlot Skill a'la MW4 where a thump in the side actually WAS a thump in the side and it would twist your torso. We have the graphic representation on the screen where if you shoot an Atlas in the torso's its upper torso twitches in the right way but the players view never actually alters.
This I believe would actually introduce skill into the game play. Players would have to quickly learn to re-target in order to fire and hit. A new pilot skill could then be introduced on the pilot tree to reduce the chance of having a 'Mech react severely to a hit and an advanced pilot skill to reduce the chance of a knock down.
Its something everyone who has ever played MW4 learned to deal with. MechWarrior greenies would have to learn fast but hey, thems the breaks.
Oh and you PPC/Gauss sniper jocks, won't you have a problem when you're hit back
