I would, very much, like to see Harmony Gold be taken down in this case and every other from this point forward. A great many things I love have yet to see US shores because of them.

Isn't the original shadow hawk (not the reimagined in this game as it is quite different in looks) also part of the unseen ones? (the original shadow hawk itself had its look from a macross special variant seen in the mangas and series)

^ Maybe you're thinking of the Phoenix Hawk. The Shadow Hawk was unseen, but not from Macross. The "unseens" being released with the Phoenix Package are from other cartoons. The Shadow Hawk is supposedly from a cartoon called "Dougram", which I have never, ever seen, and only know about it from sarna.net.

I can see where the unseen mechs from Macross are probably the most iconic for Battletech: Marauder, Warhammer, Archer, Crusader, Rifleman, Phoenix Hawk, Wasp...

The Marauder didn't even look good before it was the Marauder. I only liked it when I saw it in the militaristic camo schemes and markings of Battletech.

I'm all for Harmony Gold getting their a$$es handed to them in court.

The Shadow Hawk is from the Dougram series. It is the main characters mech.

There is a nice pic of the Dougram mecha around the middle of the page.

Hasboro has more money than HG, by a lot. It will be interesting indeed to see the results.

There was a case recently in the news were someone was patent squatting and created a company to sue other companies that he claimed were infringing upon his patents. Patents that he never did anything with other than hold the note on. He made hundreds of millions of dollars doing this because these big companies would settle out of court for like 10 cents on the dollar kinda thing. One day he attempted to sue someone who didn't settle out of court, who fought back, with a LOT of backing behind them. Guess what? That patent squatter had a vast majority of his patents invalidated.

(grabs some popcorn)

Fire it up!!!

You're probably thinking of the Soverain vs Newegg lawsuit

Soverain claimed it owned all shopping cart software in the world, so everyone who uses a shopping cart (even Mechwarrior Online!) had to pay them a percentage in royalties. Several large companies folded.

Newegg said BS and held up in court, winning outright. Because of the ruling, Soverain lost their patents and the prior awards were reversed.

They seriously need to make a movie about this because of it's insanely profound effect on the world. Newegg actually did save a good portion of the internets and countless small businesses. ]

Interesting although I'm pretty sure there though. In one of the comics that existed back then was a special armour pack (that had a shoulder weapon included) that could be packed onto the valkyrie and then the valkyrie had the same outline as a shadow hawk (that one pack enhanced val had quite a lot of missiles).
