first question:
srm 4s and 6s now share an alpha limit, but that limit was 4 for 4s and 3 for 6s.
so how many can i fire now without getting heat penalty? 3 or 4?
second question:
missile doors take .5 seconds to open. so if i fire 3 from torso and 2 from arms w/doors, simultaneously, will i get hit with the heat penalty?

First question:
The new alpha linking means that the srm4 counts as an srm category weapon, as if its was an srm 6 but only accrues srm4 heat penalty. So, 3 if one is an srm6, 4 if its all srm4's.
Second:
This is a weird timing issue, and I'm not sure how it fits in.. i would go to the training map and see for yourself, though I suspect that you only incur the penalty upon actual launch... .5 second mind you is a really short period, and while okay to get around the alpha penalty still makes me nervous.

I was running 4xASRM6s on my Jager and it would overheat like crazy with the new penalties. Switched to ASRM6/ASRM4 combo for each arm and it was not bad at all. Actually doing better with the 6/4 combo.
