Made a small video from all the footage I captured during a 2hr session on the PTS yesterday morning. Doesn't cover everything but gives a good indication of what 3PV is about. I have to say at the moment, it's okay... but then I didn't exactly go super competitive with this test, I was more testing the limitations of 3PV in general play.
Arm lock is toggle able by shift+F11 apparently and will be something I test next week. I am curious if any of the more competitive unit's used the PTS in 12v12 to see how much impact 3PV had on the competitive environment.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with 3PV at all. I didn't mind it.
But It removes an element of danger from the game and makes it easier to get see where you are and where other are — it's provides enhanced situational awareness. That's not always a good thing especially if you like simulation style play.
This is why I'm glad they are providing two separate queues.

yeah if your mech is facing something 20m away from it. the 3PV camera should zoom in. so that you can't see over cover
