But its a clan mech so it will be some time before it can be seen in MWO.

The load-out is a bit more devastating too sporting two gauss rifles, 4 heavy medium lasers, 2 medium pulse lasers, and 1 SSRM-6 on the default variant.

I love the mech, but it's 10 years too early for MWO, which take s place in 3049. Perhaps read up on the various interviews etc on this site, and check out Sarna.net for the proper canon mechs and their configurations.

Does it make sense for it to be in MW:O in the next 5 years: No
But here's hoping anyway.

IMO...
Should it appear? Sure why not.
Should it appear in game before its canon date? No.
Should it appear as it did in MA? No. It should be BT variants

Not being rude here at all to be honest, just needing to point something obvious out here.
Because out of the 7 Billion people on this current generation of humans (who are all about current events, games, timelines, etc - MW= Modern Warfare replacing MechWarrior as a "gaming term" name for crying out loud) how or why should/could they "know/keep pace" with something that happened back in the 90s?
The sooner BattleTech/MechWarrior embraces the modern age, the less confused/misinformed people there will be about the lore that needs to now "catch up to the times".
I know most will disagree, but these kinds of threads should be definitive proof that the vast majority of "non-BT/MWers" need to be brought into the fold of BT/MW if it hopes to stay relevant in a changing (not stagnant) world.
Just my two cents here is all.

This should not, however, preclude a little research to avoid being perceived as totally ignorant of the milieu. The MWO information clearly states WHEN the timeline begins (psssst, it is 3049). Extrapolating out for the possibility of a given mech should be an easy thing to do OFFLINE before deciding to post "I want "this mech" in the game".
I really do not understand your point about BT/MW joining the modern age, though - seems a nonsensical throwaway point. The information about this ,ilieu is available in digital form in a lot of places, you suggest it is not with your comment. Please explain better.
Patience is something in short supply and it is not about bring this franchise into the 21st century - it is about "I want mechs and I want them now" - The battletech milieu will remain static until about one year after the game launches, after which, things will start to diverge from the canon storyline. That is not "catching up" it is evolution.

The Blood Asp is 4/6, which is fairly mobile for a 90-ton 'Mech. And since it's an OmniMech, it can be jump capable whenever it wants to as well.
