Anyone else noticing this? I assume yes because people have been mentioning it alot in-game.
The Matchmaker is coming up with only 7 players on one side of a team much more often than normal - I would estimate last day or 2 at least - maybe even since the patch.
Is this known to the devs? Can we get an acknowledgement about this please?
To clarify I dont mean disconnects it's just coming up with 7 (sometimes 6) with the empty slots listed as No Player

This has been happening forever, but its much less often then earlier in the year, jan/feb. The game used to boot 3 or 4 players regularly.!

Is it on many different maps or just few in specific?
Perhaps it is because people found Terra Therma to be a bad map and deleted from their map list?

Noticeable thing on any map in the game. And to mention DEVs treat deleting maps as an exploit and bunnable offence. If people are confident enough how to delete map from map-pack they should already know that as well.

Seems to be across all maps and yeah I know it happens generally but seems to have spiked, lost count how many times it happened yesterday.
I dont delete maps but it would be nice if you could select which maps to toggle on and off (via the UI) to play like other games do. Especially as Terra Therma seems so buggy

I tend to get the feeling that it's related to people closing their clients when they see certain maps pop up.
Now that there are terrain-related movement mechanics, three huge maps, three hot maps, etc., a lot of people seem to be taking the easy way out and just quitting before they drop. Sure it screws over their team, but who (aside from the 7 players they left hanging) cares? At least they don't have to deal with taking a brawler into Alpine, or a 6x PPC mech onto Terra Therma, or an Atlas onto Canyons, or whatever their particular dislike happens to be.
It'd be too hard to learn to play better. Far easier just to quit and abandon their team.
I imagine short drops will diminish once the dropship mode goes live (should let you bring up to four mechs, and you get to pick which one of the four you take once you are in the lobby and see the map and your team comp).

I often see this... and there are a lot of threads here in the forum who are complaining about the same problem.
But there is one interesting thing.... the team with 7 or 6 members is usually or always the second team. Often you can see that team red is complete, and then the matchmaker tries to fill out the second team (team blue or your team) but it fails. So you have to start with 7 or less players. I saw this many times and there were some other players in the ingame-chat who noticed the same problem. For some reason some players are always in the second team..

if I queue up to drop I stay no matter what, despite however many times my brawler DDC has been screwed into alpine/canyon lol ;p

Me too. My slow SRM Jager has a lot of fun on Alpine, but I stick with it and if I can use terrain right it works out more often than one might expect.

I agree with Snowhawks theory that sounds about right... almost like the MM has a certain amount of time and is failing so just handing out 7s on 2nd team

yeah the MM is horribad! Had lots of matches with only 7 members on our team , never the other team for some reason , but then my team is allways the one still looking for member's too for some reason. Every match I enter the other team is allways fully populated.. kind of odd!
