I know having premium time increases the rate you earn XP which means you earn GXP marginally faster and it also increases the rate you earn C-Bills (which are always good to have).
The extra XP and C-Bills is a nice incentive...but it's not quite enough of an incentive to spend money on, in my not-so-humble opinion. Especially since you can't "pause" the premium time when you aren't playing. The extra 50% XP and C-Bill boost just isn't quite enough to keep me "subbed" to the game on a monthly basis.
I think since earning GXP is so inordinately slow, it would be really appealing if premium time also added 25% of your earned XP from matches directly to GXP (instead of whatever percentage it is now...5%?).
Also, it would be really nice if premium accounts had access to different game modes and events. Or something. I don't know...just something to make it more appealing.

ACTUALLY, I'd be A-OKAY if only premium accounts could launch with clan mechs once they arrive.
What's that? You ran out of premium time and you can't launch with your clan mech any more? Sorry, chump...IS mechs for you until you pony up again.

You won't see anything like exclusive access since it constitutes pay-2-win. As it is the only thing I'd really like to see is the ability to choose how I use my banked premium time, and maybe a boost to GXP, but if you've got premium time then you've got MC so the GXP boost seems redundant.
And there's no way they'd restrict clan mechs, they'd face a riot of epic proportions, you should have seen the response to the original cool-boost modules.

I'd appreciate a third option in that poll: "Depends." I wouldn't mind premium time getting the current incentives buffed, but I would mind if it bought you access to special game modes and the like. Premium time should be a shortcut, not an advantage.
IMO, the best way to make premium time more appealing is to make it based on the amount of time you play, not the amount of time that passes. Obviously, you'd have to sell much smaller chunks (say, 30 hours instead of 30 days, or something of that ilk), but I think people would still end up spending more money on it. In my case, for example, I'd probably buy a few hours every now and then when I was grinding up C-bills or leveling a particularly difficult mech.
Of course, that may be exactly why they don't do that. Premium time would end up competing with XP conversion and MC-purchasing of standard variants. I don't think that would need to be a problem, though, if it were implemented as something of an intermediate between the slow advancement of free play and the instantaneous advancement of XP-conversion and MC-purchase.

Right now, there's not much incentive to buy premium time; You can't access premium content, the extra boost in XP and money is barely noticeable, and you don't get any perks with it. It's barely passable as shortcut, even.
I don't think there's anything wrong with premium accounts having access to premium content. You're paying for extra content. Not sure why some people take such umbrage with it.

Having premium time restrict access to particular modes or content is not necessarily an advantage. It only becomes an advantage if there are benefits gained from using the restricted content that affect the balance of the freely available content.
For example, while alternative modes that are only available during premium time may affect c-bill gain, and thus in an indirect manner affect the other modes, it is unlikely to affect game balance, as anyone can still run whatever 'Mechs they want with whatever loadout they want.

Personally I found premium time useful as is, but only cause I get only a couple of hours a day to play. I'd never would have bought it back in the day when I had loads of free time to play video games.
Perks would be nice, but I have a feeling premium time is targeted at the little time but with money to spend crowd.

When I asked for them to make Premium Time more appealing, having them nerf match rewards wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I guess I should be careful what I ask for.
