I have fully updated my drivers and am running an ATI Radeon HD 7770 with 16 gigs of ram and an 8 core processor running windows 7, 64 bit. Since the last patch there have been several occasions where I have frozen up mid game. my screen freezes and I have the sound of my MG's firing all the time. Friends in voice chat with me say I am still heading in the last direction I was going and my MG's are just belching out rounds. I can even get dead team mates to ghost ride my mech while this is happening and they count down the Rounds as the are fired out. IF I survive the match the game will unfreeze or if I die the game unfreezes. Once it remained locked until the scoreboard timed out and then I was returned to the launch screen. This has happened about 15 times and only since the last patch. Today the Game client started to close when this happens. This needs to be addressed, I would suggest a hotpatch asap as it has been several days since the last patch.

I have full control over the rest of my computer and can open and close browsers, talk on chat, and open other programs while locked out of the game like this.

I had this happen to me today as well. Also while firing machine guns in my Jaeger DD

Alt-Tab out of game then reselect MWO... usually fixes it for me (had it a lot more with is patch)... only had one actual computer locked completely need to hit the reset button crash since new patch. Seems to happen more often when MGs and Missiles are a flying.

Alt-tab, doesn't fix this. I go so far as to open Task Manager and look over the applications services, processes and performance and and there is no data dump, no high usage of the CPU or anything like that. I might try reseating my RAM as that fixed a problem a friend of mine was having playing a different game but really I think it's an in-game issue.

Periodic lockup in mid battle here also...no problems prior to patch...

Happened to me a few times since patch, in different maps with different mechs using different weapons. It usually corrects itself after several seconds (10-30?) though. Alt-tab does not work as it's frozen too. No idea what triggers it. So far no DC.

A friend reported getting a black screen right afterwards.

Been getting this too especially the last few matches, it has to be a game problem as every other game I play runs perfectly, even the massive resource hogs that are planetside2, kerbal space program and minecraft with mods.

Sometimes I get blackscreens mid match some matches it recovers some just crash, sometimes instead of a blackscreen it shows my desktop while my computer thinks its still showing the fullscreen mwo program, aka alt tabing to desktop from my visible desktop that is technically the mwo program being invisible. Strange stuff

Same here... Kind of freezing game for various seconds (up to 30). Then Magic recovery, but usually my mech has been destroyed in the meanwhile. First i thought it's my System, but i heard that various Players are experiencing this. So it seem to be some game issue...

I had occasions where i was frozen around 30 sec on a Black Screen b4 the game came back - first Sound, then Graphic, then Controls.
Impossible to judge if Alt+Tab had an effect on it...

I have a very similar, if not the same, issue. I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del and then click cancel (Windows 7). This works 70% of the time. Alt+Tab might work but I play windowed. It happens in every single match, at least once, at random times during the match, but mostly during battles of course.
