OK heres the idea , been said before I seem to remember , way back in closed Beta.... But wouldn't it be nice for a very large map (not so wide but long) .. each side has various forts that can be destroyed along the way (these will have their own set of defences along with the allied mechs), The objective would be to destroy your opponents forts then finally the drop zone. Now heres the good part , when a players mech is destroyed they get dropped back into the fray at a separate drop zone away from the main destructible drop zone. This feature would enable longer battles with more earning potential. (If this sounds familiar think of WoW and Alterac Valley 64 vs 64 or was it 32 vs 32?).

Agreed. No.

I would like to see base assault and conquest not suck though.

For the people who liked to play WoW, yes. This is not Wow and not even close. There are better ways than this to get to the same place.

AV was 40v40 first of all. Second of all while I love the idea of more game modes, to have "respawns" you would need a feature that you selected multiple mechs to bring to the match. A Mech just doesn't magically repair itself in 5 seconds...

Linear Conquest! I'd support it. Long, not wide. Think single canyon, Great Canyon sort of thing (so there are levels and alcoves, twists and turns, just no wide flank).

There was a game mode like this in CoD 1 or 2 i think...5 bases in a line of sorts. Each team started on opposite ends and the battleline got pushed back and forth until you cornered the other team at the base at their end.

We will get something with destructible bases eventually.

Does no one remember the PC gamer article?

love it when people are writing "no." but lack a REASON.

I wouldn't mind such a match mode, especially since we will get dropships anyway so we will have a kind of respawn, just in a different mech of which you have 4 in total for each map.

I also agree with the idea of a linear Conquest. I really like your idea about defensive bases or resource collectors along the way; I have discussed the idea of adding minefields to deter fast, light cappers from winning the mission before it gets started before, mainly in connection with Assault.

The one thing I cannot go along with because I really think the concept is Arcade, is the idea of any Respawns. The only way that I would consider this is if the MechWarrior had ejected from a truly stricken Mech that had actually exploded. The MechWarrior would then need to be picked up by a friendly unit and taken to a Dropship where he or she may have access to another Mech. One possibility could be that there may be a few spare Recon units (Spider with 1 Light Laser) in a hanger at the bases, not the resource collectors.

I only said no because WoW was mentioned... Wow PvP was absolutely horrible and no aspect of it has any place in MWO.

I love it. Our mechs in the much bay could be our respawns only get 4 mechs per game.

Sometimes people have to think outside the box , I mentioned WoW only as an example . It is a poor example in the respect that the mere mention of it is enough to put people off something. But yes , respawns can be justified by eject and rescue. By huge it would not necessarily be overly huge say half the width of Terra Therma (I really hate that map incidently) but twice as long.
