OK now that we all have had some time to use the Victor and elite it what are your best and worse performing builds? Also what are your most and least fun builds?
For me I have noticed I can be effective in most builds I have tried. That is as long as I keep the engine in the 350-400 range. Slower than that and I might as well be in my Atlas. And for me I only like to do close range brawling so really on my builds I am just trying different combinations of speed, heat, alpha and types of damage etc. Alphas all are in the 45-68 range. Jump jets are always 4-6. Heat scale tend to be 130-160 I believe. And I try and stay with max armor or close to it. I will see about posting some exact builds later.

I have had great success with 1 ac5 1 ultra ac5 srms with artemis and mls with a 350xl. in the assault verses world challenge i was cranking out between 800 and 1100 damage a game with that set up and made it to 13th before being knocked down some.
i also enjoy a ac 20 3 srm6 ml build. its a 66 point alpha that runs 78kph.
my other build is a guess ppc 2 large laser.

Depends on the Variant.
I run a 350XL, 4 JJ and 14 DHS in all of them.
For the 9S I use a AC/20, 3 SRM6, 2 ML build with alot of success.
For the 9K I just recently switched to a Gauss, 3 ML, 2 SRM6+Artemis build that seems to do well.
My DS runs a Gauss, ER PPC, 2 ML and and SRM4. Used to have dual Streaks until they go nerfed to uselessness. Still does well though.
Managed to get as high as 15th in the Tournament for quite a while before I realized I wasn't going to beat out the Top 5 players no matter what I did and decided to quit trying.

I tried a dinky STD300, no jumpjets, 1 Gauss and 2 PPCs, lots of double heatsinks on my 9B and one time, managed to nail 6 kills in Canyon. I don't really advise it unless you are an precise sniper moving in and out of cover, and love using the 2 PPC/ER and Gauss layout. I am fighiting almost like my Phract really, which generally has this layout. Since then I have moved out from a Cataphract on steroids style to a more mini Atlas style.
My 9S generally packs an AC20, one Large Laser, and 3 SRM6s with an XL330. Great for on your face battles with Atlas and Stalkers. But lately I have moved to a more heat neutral, higher DPS over alpha layout with 2 UAC5s and 3 SRM6s. First run on Canyon, and mowed down three assaults that were unlucky to be in my path.
I continuously change my layouts though, as often as I get bored. Generally though, currently my 9B is now centered around an AC20, and my Dragon Slayer with a Gauss, 2 SRM6s and testing between two large lasers s 2 Medium Lasers. So I keep three Victors, each with 3 different main ballistic layouts, again for experimentation.
At the moment now though, I am exploring the Quickdraw and seeing what can come out with it.
When Community Warfare comes, and the game will let you choose a mech before you enter a battle, I plan on having different configurations across my Victors and Highlanders optimized for different maps.

Highlander is better for most Gauss/PPC builds. Because those builds dont require speed.
The entire point of using a VIctor is that it can go like 80kph and still hit as hard as an Atlas-D-DC

I had my Victors running on PPCs before the Alpha nerf and the SRM buff. In fact my Dragon Slayer used to run with 3 PPCs and a Gauss. Nowadays, the PPCs have been removed and returned to my 'Phracts and my Victors are sporting SRMs, ballistics, and some lasers as a top off.
I have also done the same with my Highlanders : PPCs out, lasers and SRMs in. I am seeing a game gradually shifting to more brawls. Not to mention after 3 months of PPC sniping, brawling with SRMs seems quite a fun change. I am reexamining some more mechs in my garage to do the same, having quite a bit of success using the JM6-A with 3 SRM6s that way.

9B typical AC20, ML, SRM6 setup with XL350
9S XL320 with Dual UAC5, MLs and SRM6s
9K with a STD320, Gauss, 3ML, 2SRM6
All with DHS and JJs.
All three are equally good for me. The STD is slow (70kph) but you don't die on side torso explosions which are getting more frequent, the 9B is my fast hitter and the 9S my nerve-wrecker. Love em all.
