3PV is not quite polished yet. there are a lot of kinks, that make the controls feel clunky

when new players experience MWO for the first time in 3PV they will be put off. By the camera angles and the unintuitive hud behavior.

Reticle snaps back and forth in the mech, as the target distance is changed. To me that spells frustration, because i simply cannot predict how my targeting reticule will act and whether or not i will be able to hit the target.
To a new player, that will add a level of confusion to an already complicated game.

There is a lot of camera snaping also, abrupt changes in camera distance, if there is something behind the mech. Most games have a smooth camera zoom feature when you back into an object.
such that the zoom in begins before hitting the object, in that way, the camera is given time to smoothly zoom towards the mech. instead of being forced to snap forward.

game news sites often tear appart games because of some of these issues present in the 3PV. All it is really is a polish issue at this point.

Did anyone else notice the much wider POV in 3PV than first person? Felt like 120 degrees to me rather than 60-70.

Also, I noticed that with a bit of careful camera jiggery pokery you could peek over buildings depending on how high your 'Mech was. Now THAT gives a 3PV player a hefty advantage over a first person player.

yeah camera needs to zoom depending on how close the mech is to an objct in front of him.

so if a mech is behind cover(very close to an object) should zoom in so that the camera won't show you too much

3PV feels wrong to me on so many levels. This is Mechwarrior, methinks this only needs cockpit view or maybe drone view via display.

3PV gives you an advantage in spotting enemies, a wider fow, things that make you better than the average in cockpit player, without requiring more brainz or skill to use. That was a big letdown for me.
