This is very interesting ! Although I already read all of this, a reminder is never a bad thing and it's summurized enough to be read very fast. As for a newbie in the BT universe, it should be a must-read not to forget that MW:O is more than just a robot-bashing FPS.

Thanks a lot man ! :(

excellent coverage of the varous factions, if a player needs more in depth info there are source books for all the factions, good job

This can best be supplemented by the Hitchhiker's Guide to Battletech.

Nice work... the devs might even want to consider putting something similar into the game as an option to help the n00bies to the universe get caught up to speed.

Since it's 3049 shouldn't the Steiner leader be Archon Melissa Steiner-Davion? She took lead in 3039.

Thanks for catching that, fixed!

Nice work Mahws :)

You might throw this link into your first post; It was created for the same reason your first post was.

That's nothing short of a masterwork, added a link in the first post. Trying to read my way through, it's pretty intimidating.

Great suggestion, added a link as well.

Haha. Wow. Almost looks like something I wrote -- from memory -- for an awful game (MechAssault on Xbox):

Read this the other day, its old. Has a few 80's style Battlemechs, some of them are in here, it was funny to go back and forth between them.

has the main history, A short story battle and has some schematics that are in color for you toddlers out there

Very nicely done, should help those new to the BT universe as well as those more familiar with the later clan/post-clan eras.

IF this isn't enough for you check out this place

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Main_Page

This can help you get updated on various mechs, weapons, vehicles and most importantly? People. Some of the people in the Mechwarrior and Battletech Universe were more important than the battles and mechs.

The rich history that exists in this univers is what has made me a fan for 20 years. I love it, and the novels add SO much more depth to the universe. If you have not read any I highly suggest that you pick some up!
