No. MC mechs require bays as well. (I learned the hard way). Only the prepurchase mechs seem to come with bays (Founders, Phoenix, and Sara), likely because they're purchased outside of the game, and it's simply easier to provide one.
My guess is the general rule is: If you need a bay to look at it, you don't get one when you buy it.

It's like the awesome, don't bother to put in a STD engine, you will lose your CT long before your RT/LT even if you torso twist.
And it's a SRM heavy mech and the hit detection is quite gibberish right now.

Wanted a medium missle boat, frikked up scale preventing me from jumping. Stick with my beloved BlackJacks (See, not total gripe fest, the 'Jacks are great)

It doesnt have the tonnage to be an effective missile boat in the current meta, its to slow to brawl, and has LESS torso twist and LESS speed than all the other kintaro variants.....
What does it get in exchange?
WHAT AWESOME UPGRADE DID IT SACRIFICE ALL ITS USEFUL FUNCTIONALITY FOR?
....1 extra energy hardpoint...
I know hero mechs shouldnt be upgrades, but they shouldnt be downgrades either.
Yes I realize it has a gazillion tubes, but I cant see any way to take advantage of them without making it suck even harder see this as an example:
GOLDEN BOY
WTH is wrong with you guys? Did anyone even think this thing through?
Yen-lo-wang semmed a little crummy, but it clearly had its unique specialized applications.
Goldenboy seems setup to specialize in a job it is clearly BAD AT DOING.
As if that wasnt bad enough they release it in the same patch that they cripple the one other strategy it might be good at (mini splatcat).
I am beginning to wonder if PGI is actually playing the same game we are, cuz stuff like this just doesn't make any sense.
As far as the scale goes, It is freaking ridiculous have we ever gotten a good explanation?
The thing is frigging enormous. Someone needs to explain what "Scale" means to their modeling staff. I Don't care if its what the books say its supposed to be it looks damned stupid in game.
(will xpost to general discussion cuz some people wont see it here)

PGI Logic.
Nothing out of the ordinary from the company that dragged DNF through the mud

- 5 missile hard points
- Hardpoints are spread out evenly over body
- 3 of said hardpoints can do 15+ tubes
- Hardpoints are spread out evenly over body
- 3 laser hard points (on arms)
- More armor than any other medium available to date
- Carries engines with rating up to 290 (Speed 85.4 kph / 94.0 kph)
- Hero `Mech bonuses
- Slow and not very maneuverable
- Even with a XL275 it's barely 81 kph which leaves little room for mistakes on a medium
- Seems to have no shoulders.
- All damage goes into center torso, even when turned to the side
- Probably fixed in future release
- All damage goes into center torso, even when turned to the side
- The number of hardpoints that can do 15+ tubes is ridiculous unless you intend to walk around as a LRM boat
- Very tall. Big body to spot and hit.
- No jump jets
- Only minor color cutomization (you are stuck with most of your body being gold)
- Tube-arrangement on arm is questionable (looks bad visually when only one launcher)

Do not get this mech.
All KTO's are unplayable at this point. It's probably playable as long as nobody shoots at you but turns out people shoot back and every damn bit of incoming hits that CT.
It's like have a 55 ton mech with the armor of a commando and the speed of a heavy mech.
The CT hit boxes are simply too big.
See here for the full reason: http://mwomercs.com/...tupid-hitboxes/

Can we get an official response on if this is going to be fixed and how swiftly. Otherwise I think there are going to be a lot of VERY upset players. Because at this point the KTO-GB is a very expensive mech bay ornament.

Which means its CT is as weak if not weaker than the Awesome CT combined with Medium armor values, look is good, like the Cockpit interior, size still quite tall.
Speed is to low, Agility is to low, a Mech for oportunistic Players that shadow initiative Players in the hope to not get shot.

It doesn't matter that it's slow, I've played plenty of slow mediums they just require a different tactic such as sticking to heavies and assaults and lending firepower.
BUT the Kintaro has such a MASSIVE CT and is so damn TALL that it just sucks hardcore. Every shot just hammers it's monstrous CT and being so tall exacerbates this problem by creating a longer CT ontop of just a larger model to hit
I've never said I want my money back on anything, Founders, premium time, the few normal mechs I've bought with MC, Overlord but I want my money back for Golden Boy.
Whatever team designs your mechs ingame models NEEDs to be forced to submit them to your balance dept before release. They've put out far to many F'd up mechs in this game already and it needs to stop NOW.
edit: and if they already do and they both ok mechs like the Awesome, Trebuchet, Stalker, Quickdraw and now the Kintaro they need to be let go because they're incapable of doing their jobs.. anyone on the forums could of looked at your Kintaro model and pointed out it's to tall and has to much CT
