I have 4 different TS servers bookmarked for MWO

skye rangers\house steiner\NGNG\ComstarNA

Especially noticeable on the large public servers, player numbers are down, in a BIG way.

Probably just temporary?

Regardless it is concerning, anyone else notice a dip in player activity?

I have noticed a little less play on the Ngng server and that's the only 1 I go on. My group I play with is mostly from Australia and they have been on at lest last week for I'm on vaca this week but I will say what I said on another thread that was mentioning lower TS counts. It's spring in NA now weather is nicer and I for 1 will be playin bball and riding my motorcycle now it's nice out so mayb it was all just a winter rush in NA and those #'s will not be around again for some time. But then again I'm not denying the possibility that the current game state may b to blame as well.

I think a lot of those guys have been playing for a long time. You get burned out. I have not played in a month or so because I was not having fun. I'm just waiting for the storms to pass and let everything smooth out.

OP, it is intentional IMO. I guess when the new social features are released with UI 2.0 you will see better the direction?

We used to have one TS3 server that a lot of people used but it was killed by PGI. A new server popped up and later PGI asked that the new 'single' official but 'unofficial' TS3 server, be split into several based upon geographical commercial zones or regions. This was also done because PGI intends to split the game servers into regions too, with the possibility of some players being locked into their regions and not able to join players in the other ones.

This fragmented the TS3 population and led to an initial ghost town like state. The population has not recovered since. That said, many units just hang on their servers.

There is a pattern here, every communications medium that brought people from all over the player base together in one place, has been fragmented and / or killed off. We do not even know what the precise social functions that we are getting with UI 2.0 are. The fact that an in game lobby and better in game social functions have been left off development cycles for so long, gives an indication of intent IMO.

Are people wanting me to explain why it is intentional? I doubt it......

Even though overall activity is down across the MWO community for whatever reason.

The CapellanConfederation teamspeak is always active with players from around the world.

So if you find yourself wanting for some team play and chit chat, then stop by and play with the CCAF lances.

You will surely find a welcoming atmosphere.

I haven't noticed any big drop off on the House Davion TS3 server.

I have seen lately many MWO TS servers empty or very few people playing. Some of the TS servers have vanished. MWO needs more content quickly such as MAPS to keep us interested.

Our TS is usually pretty active, and so is the House Kurita one. I visit Comstar/NGNG once in a while, but not regularly enough to know if they're down or not.

massive drop on the EU as everyone that used to be on it went over to the NA Ts server. I would like to see more on the EU again (Public Servers)

I actually find solo pugging more interesting then 4 man or 12 man matches.
Also I don't talk well playing games. That seems to annoy people.

I don't mind listening. just don't like to talk.

Phoenix Company teamspeak is bustling . Peak times we have upwards of 27 people on fielding 24 mech games!

Russ just posted on Twitter this week that the forum activity is at an all time high, and they had the highest number of concurrent users online ever last Sunday.

So... yeah. Game seems to be doing ok.

I'm with ya on that one. I play with my friend over skype, but it's different with a 4 man group. You lose a fair bit amount of freedoms, like when you can drop, what mech you choose (if they're coordinating) whether you can talk or not. Having music in the background is hard because some people are loud some people are dead quite. You need to listen to everyone even if you don't like them.

I dunno.. group chat just bugs me. lol so i don't anymore.

Some people just moved to more private TS servers. For example, most of DV8 members joined HBA during the last weeks. Naturally, all these guys are now on the private HBA TS3 server. We even had to upgrade to 50 slots to accompany all the active players.
