I know this is a known issue, but there is very little detail in the current thread.

I run an i5 ivy bridge quad core, a 7770HD gpu, 8 GB ram. Unfortunately, I'm still running XP.

This does not occur (ever) when I'm on medium settings, but the moment i start moving setting to high, I get this error almost immediately when joining a match. The repair tool does not fix this issue.

Had anyone found any other work arounds or fixes?

Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 all have 32bit versions.

32bit systems can only make use of ~4GB ram (the fact you have 8GB installed does not make the other 4GB usable) If you want to be able to use more than med settings you have to have a 64bit OS. 32Bit OS only allows 2.5GB for program execution, trying to use higher textures is using more ram than is allocated. Testing grounds does not have enough mechs to cause the problem but a drop will as it has to store the textures for each mech (24) in a drop and the higher the texture the more information per mech has to be stored.
