I have to agree, Clan mechs could easily do 50-60 point alphas even with all the Heat Scale nerfs you could imagine. They are going to have to fix the mechs. At the very least the Center Torso and Leg armor will need to be increased.

I have a Stone Rhino that throws 75 point Alphas (2x ERPPC 3x Gauss). Unlike the 60 damage of the PPC Stalker I would be able to throw this more than twice in MWO without shut down.

I like your examples a lot! Its strange to be in a mech, riding the redline of the heat, and suffering no penalty at all until shutdown occurs. Even if they only implemented your idea of your reticule being affected, it would somewhat reinforce the concept of high heat equals bad. Hell they should show some heat wave distortion in the cockpit, maybe displays flashing off and on. Kinda like how mechs reacted to a PPC hit in MW4, with electronics going crazy and your hud flickering.

HOLY CRAP you want to Nerf stuff more?!?!?!? Haven't we had enough crap broken in this game. Next you will want to go 16vs16 since 12v12 is so good.

Why don't people quit complaining and start playing? PPC's ard Gauss guns are just fine. Leave them alone. quit "fixing" crap that isn't broken. More importantly stop Complaining about crap that isn't broken.

Not sure what you're replying to, but those of us suggesting the addition of a heat affects table, are doing so as a REPLACEMENT to the current boating/alpha penalty system that is so obviously ill-conceived.

Not talking about a Cicada. Cicadas are fine and one of the most competitive mechs right now.

Talking about a Trebuchet which is as tall as an Awesome and pretty much has to use XL to go its max speed. They are absurdly easy to hit in the side torso. And theyre dead in two alphastrikes.

I'd like to point out that ALL 'mechs must use XL's to go their 'maximum' possible speed, so I'm not sure what your point is on this portion of your statement.

It's not a weakness exclusive to the Treb.

Fair enough, Side Torso of a Treb has 48 armor total so Yeah 2 35 point Alphas. thats about right. TT you'd only have 24 armor total so a 35 point alpha could leave your side torso gone. 24 armor + 12 Structure=36 points total. Twice the armor twice the damage needed to kill the Treb. Convergence is once again the problem not the total damage of the Alpha as I see it.

BTW... I also included the Kintaro as it is the largest Medium Mech thus he most armor a medium can carry, to avoid having to make this... Post, I see what you did there! :(
