The other day someone in game mentioned a .cfg config to set max fps to 60. I can’t seem to find how to do it on the forums.

Do any of you know where to find this, or know how to do this?

Certainly, I think it's simple; go to your Mechwarrior install folder (probably something like C:/ProgramFiles/MWO/Mechwarrior Online) open the user.cfg in notepad and add this line

sys_MaxFPS = 60
I believe that should do it for you, but I haven't tested this

Edit: Just tested and it seemed to work. Fraps did go up to 61 for a second, but it just jittered before settling back at 60 and it might've just been a glitch.

Just out of curriosity, why would one want to do that in the first place? Does it enhance performance? I understand that if your monitor can only refresh at 60MHz that anything about 60fps is useless, but how does setting the max at 60fps help?

Or, you could just enable VSync in game to acheive the same ends.

Capping FPS at 60 has a couple benefits, MnDragon: Higher FPS can result in tearing during fast movement. Further, rendering far more frames than you need is only making your GPU hotter than it needs to be.
