Hey Mech-Fighters

Post here some of your best pug drops win or lose.

Conditions. Every playa has done more than 10 damage, every playa has 2 assists or above and one playa must be left on the winning team.



This was by far the most even, exciting, excellent match for me in a pug drop for this year so far. There was as little as 1 mech kill between the scores until "jackswift" defeated a badly damaged Victor and Cataphract with his beat up Trebuchet.

Whichever way the result could have gone I do thank all the playa's for a most Mech-cellent! match indeed.

An old one, but I still have very fond memories of this one: (so i'm cheating a little on the conditions)



Our base came under attack early in the game by 2 or 3 lights. We chased them away, but that landed us in the tight spot of being stretched too thin, with a base that would fall if another such attempt was made. So I told the rest of my team to "get back in the fight, I will stand guard", and that's what they did. When the dust settled, it was a relatively fresh raven, a critical CDA-3M, and 2 legged spiders against just me.

The raven came first, and dodged behind the cap structure (no turrets back then), while my back armor suddenly evaporated, and my CT going critical reminded me of the cicada's presence. There he was, hugging a small rock for every last bit of cover, but was too badly damaged - one slash with my medium lasers across his torso and he went down. The raven got caught in the hip with an AC20 round, putting him dead in the water and went alpha in a bid to do as much damage as possible, probably knowing he wouldn't get another shot.

The spiders made a valiant effort, but one of them only managed one shot - AC20 and XL engine spiders don't mix too well if youre the spider AND missing a leg. AC ammo gone, the last spider cost me an arm, but without a leg and trading punches with a lightly damaged hunchback there was just no way.

Still, one of the best games (if not the very best) I had, and everyone on both sides put in some massive work till the very end.

This one i am letting in as beating a team with 5 ecm and yours has none was a 5 star pug game.

Had one last night in my Golden Boy.

They swarmed us with ECM - took out most of our team quickly.
They were smart enough to stagger themselves - when one got wounded, he dropped back and let others stand near the front, but because of the ECM screen we could not really tell that.

Towards the end it was at least 6-10, maybe worse.
Me in my GB - little to no front armor left,one arm gone, taking with it my TAG and 2 LRM5
Another in the new shiny - not very sure of his condition.

Both of us fell back to base - me letting the turrets target for me, not really sure what he was doing (was a little distracted)
Closed in with one of them - a Stalker LRM boat with 1ML for backup.
The rest I stayed as far from as I could.

In the end me and the BJ were the last two standing.



Didn't blur any names because they all fought well - those that did not score well, were not given a chance to
(IE that CN9-D was the first to fall - enough LRM landed on him to drop an Atlas)


Edit: the other team was good - but then either got cocky or ran out of ammunition, not sure which
(there were at least 2 6xAC2 Jagers)

It might look lopsided, but we came back from a deficit of 6 - 4 to pull out a win.

as for one of my best matches i unfortunately do not have screen shots but it came down to a legged Spider with no torso armor a large laser no ecm vs a Firestater with no torso armor 2 medium lasers and was legged, both went round and round at about 20kph in a circle of equals desperately trying to get the killing shot on the other, we lost but it was one of the most tense 4 mins of my mech warrior career.

Wow. A 11 Kill game in an Atlas. And in my favourite variant, the D, and it's not jump capable and your ping is good but not great.

Please say you were running anything but 2 xPPC and 2 X AC5's?

apologies, no disrespect, and for me it's more about fun then winning. I think "Mech-cellent!" in team chat is preferable to All chat type of a condescending "ggclose" from certain groups.

But hey if we drop again in team or opposition I will not type anything.

Here is a special pug drop game.

Lex Rainolds, 07, was left to fend for himself in his Firestarter against a DDC Atlas and a Clan Nova. In the last 2 minutes of the game, Lex not only achieved the tie, but he decided to win the game by killing the Atlas.

Clan-tastic! and Mech-cellent! indeed.
