True, but there is also another saying.

"Sometimes simple is the best way."

Same with me, but it doesn't have to be overly complicated either.

I would like 2 world maps/metagame modes.

1 is cannon and factions are restricted in what areas they can take.

the second one has no restrictions, factions can take whatever they want and carve out whatever territory they want in the innersphere. Almost like eve.

I would love to see house restricted mechs thrown into the first.

though a lot of houses use a good amount of non house mechs, cuz many are salvage. But I wouldn't mind a huuuge Cbill increase to buy nonhouse mechs. maybe 5x cbill cost or something to reflect how rare they can be. So that its not really worth it to go nonhouse mechs.

To balance that, the merc units should make tons of extra c-bills per mission. ;)

Alternatively, you could add bonuses for using house mechs while being a merc/lonewolf and fighting for that house. It would be a great for noobs.

i can def see that happening. Even lore wise, since a fraction amount of the rewards in a Faction unit would go straight to the house. But maybe in a merc unit you don't have to split your earnings with the house, so more cbills.

UI 2.0 maybe, expecting lots of bugs though. And that in my books is a solid "NO". CW phase 1 might as well be a reskin on the current faction selection in profile ...

It will be ready in the same sense that this house is ready.

would really like to see an inventory feature. flipping through my engines is a pain. especially since you can only see the engines within your selected mech's range.

UI2.0: Maybe. It has been in the works for a while now.

CW: If you are talking about faction shops and royalty points as a currency, then maybe. It should be out before the phoenix mechs (which gives royalty point bonus, tut tut). If you are talking abou players actually fighting each other in organised warfares for the control of the universe? Nah, dosen't seem likely.

What I would like to see is the House/Canon Units get a core of players to start building from right at launch. I came to the game to help the Lyrans beat on Clanners.

there is a great thread which talks about which mechs are available to which houses based on manufacturing ability:
http://mwomercs.com/...ch-manufacture/

what i would like to see happen when the Houses and Community Warefare (CW) are released:

(1) Re-introduce Repair and Re-arm (R&R)
(2) Pilots aligned with a House get free repairs to house-mechs, and double-cost repairs to non-house mechs
(3) Merc Corps and Lone Wolves have standard repair
(4) Clan Mechs (in the future) will have high repair costs

This will influence (but not constrict) people to play with the story

- Houses which build mechs have plenty of parts available, but refuse to pay for non-house mech parts due to honor
- Merc corps and lone wolves maintain flexibility
- Clans have high costs because of their advanced technology
- Light and Medium mechs could become more viable (if getting your Assault destroyed is expensive)

Go Steiner! free Assaults for anyone who wears a blue shirt

No and no.

We'll have loyalty points.

Loyality Points are when I buy MC despite better judgement?

Then I won't have LP.

Short answer: No.

Reason: Because PGI.

Serious Answer: UI overhauls require a lot of background work... you have to effectively create your own UI interface from scratch, and then build upon it. If you've ever played 8 or 12 mans, you might see "shaping oddities" on the Ready/Not Ready bars as you go further down the list. The lack of precision and detail could be resolved, but it's probably based on a junk foundation that doesn't play nicely to modification (or PGI is lazy to make the modifications) or it requires a lot more precision that make it a hassle to deal with.

Remember, it took a while before we got "notifications" of a message being received... and it doesn't quite work the way it should (there are little chat oddities/bugs that annoy the heck out of me).

None of this will be ready for launch, when you have to think seriously about the kinds of changes that must take place.

I somehow doubt that lazy is the right word. I doubt that t here are PGI devs just sitting around not doing anything. The problem is probably more a thing of prioritization and available resources.

I figure the resources are not sufficient in general, and certain topics that we care for just don't have the priority it needs to get some of the available resources. (Though I wonder if some topics also inherently have no resource avaialble until they hire someone with the right skills for the task.)

And I don't even want to guess how much meddling from IGP or PGI superiors is involved in all this that makes things even harder to accomplish.

Lazy is probably too harsh... ill prepared is probably more appropriate.
