OK, I admit it. I fail.

I can't make or save a user.cfg file in my game directory. I'm in the directory where "system.cfg" resides. There is no "user.cfg" file.

I open notepad, write the text I want (fov change only), and go to save the file as a .cfg file, and I get "access denied".

I specifically need help in how to save this file in the directory. I can't seem to find where to "run as administrator", which is what I assume the issue is?

I know what to type for a fov change, I just can't save the file, "access denied".

Could use some help. It's Windows 7, if that matters.

Or, is this no longer something we can do (i.e. with new patch)?

Thanks.

Are you 100% sure the file does not exist?
It may be worth setting explorer to show hidden files to check the file isnt there.

If you cannot create a file, then the permission issue is with the folder.
So go up a folder, right click your MWO folder and select properties.

The "Read Only" option in the General tab may cause this, or you may have to edit the permissions in the Security tab.

MWO runs as admin, and my folder is read only, but I am logged in as admin with UAC off so it probably wouldn't affect me.

Thanks evil,

That did the trick, had to edit permissions in security tab.

I was then able to create the file and enter my fov mod.

I appreciate your help!
