Out of curiosity, how long does it usually take to hear back? If a couple weeks have gone by and an application is still 'open,' is it safe to assume it was not accepted?

If it's more than a couple days I've probably just missed it, which apparently I did with yours. If you're still interested in joining I still have your application on the website.
