So repair and rearm was originally in this game to cover several facets of the Battletech experience.

-A way of balancing expensive equipment.
-A way of giving an immersive, desperate battle experience, fighting with half repaired mechs.

Seeing as how the original implementation caused such crying as to be removed, I propose the following.

-FOR LONE WOLVES, and HOUSE PLAYERS,
--after match bonuses, like multipliers for:
>running STD Engine,
>SHS,
>no artemis,
>STD chassis and armour,
>and no use of ErPPC or Gauss, (these were supposed to be expensive to get and maintain.)
>No Special Ammo. (when introduced.)

Basically, this simulates that your mech was cheap to maintain, and as such more of your match earnings go to your own pockets. Elegance of this system, no match will ever be negative earnings.

If missions/campaigns ever get introduced, wherein 3 or more matches are fought with a limited selection of mechs, then armour repairs between matches can be introduced, although internal damage and standard ammo is replenished for free.

-FOR MERC CORPS
--Old system reintroduced, with some balancing. Mercs represents High-Risk-High-Reward gameplay, and is generally thought of (at this point, any way) as "Hardcore" mode.
--One major variation. Repairs can alternatively be paid for with time. If you don't wont to pay for your repairs, you can wait them out.

As always, feedback is appreciated.

No repair and rearm will ever make sense. Either you punish literally half the player base -- those who lose/die more than win/kill -- or you give out silly bonuses that make repair and rearm irrelevant. This is not a single player game.

Without repair and rearm you are going to miss half of the MechWarrior feel. Don't know how to fix it. Maybe when fighting a certain distance from home station you encumber the cost of repair and rearm.
