i did a test... i purchased a Dragon Slayer and with premium time and the hero bonus to Cbills i was not able to come up with enough Cbills to purchase the next victor before getting enough experience to fully master out the dragon slayer.

i'm pretty frustrated. i'm running out of mechs to master out and not gaining enough money to purchase new ones.

and this is coming from someone who has purchased 8 hero mechs.

Out of curiosity, when was the last time you sold off excess equipment. Like the hundreds of SHS and Medium lasers you have likely accumulated over time. There was a serious chunk of change there the last time I did it.

Your first mistake is buying Hero Mechs at all ...

Your second mistake is playing those Hero Mechs you purchased ...

The reality is that the CB boost from Hero's generally doesn't even make up for the terribleness of those chassis. There are very few Hero's that are considered "decent" and none of them, so far, are considered "really good".

To make matters worse, Big Mechs that can stay alive a long time and dish out Big Damage are the ones that make the most money right now. Take the Misery, it's big, it can dish out some damage, but until recently it was sub par as compared to the Stalker 3F. The FireBrand is another mech that, when properly played, can dish out a ton of damage. Both of those can be money makering Heros ...

The rest? not so much. Take the Muromets for example ... the 3D, when properly played, will generally do more then 30% more damage / etc, etc so the CB bonus literally takes it from being "sub par" to being "even" CB wise.

So, if you want to grind CB's ... play one of the money makers, and play it well.

Personally, I don't grind with Hero's. I had almost 50 million CB's not to long ago ... then I bought the Jenners and the Victors ... and I should be back up to 50 million by the end of this weekend.

Your stated issue is the ratio of XP income to CBill income.
Premium Time accelerates both XP and CBill income by 50%.
Premium time gets you there faster, it won't change the amount of overflow CBills or overflow XP you end up with.

Also, did you purchase a new engine to use with your Dragonslayer, or did you use one you had sitting around?

Also, the free to play model, if played truly free (not buying the hero, but buying the next mech with Cbills) is generally meant to be a grind, so I would say this is probably working as intended for a FTP model. Premium time and hero cut down on the grinding, but don't mean that buying them makes buying the next mech guaranteed once you have maxed the hero, but imagine how much longer it would take otherwise . . .

I have 4 Mechs left to master and while I do so, I watch my CB stock grow and grow and grow, without premium or a heromech.
But I admit, I don't buy (many) engines, just use some of mechs I finished.
And in most cases the people I play with exchanged XP for GXP.
Whatever, it's still miles away from planetside 2.

The exp to c-bill ratio in this game is totally fragged up at the moment and i think you got every right to be upset about it.

I am not sure if this´ll do any good to the whole community, especially new players if it stays that way. I am not even sure if i want to keep on playing, i really do love grindcore but not in computer games. As almost always, the PGI-officials are not reacting, not even commenting which ain´t a healthy business strategy imho.

The good thing is that i still got 7 empty mechbays, so just in case i keep on playing i won´t have to buy anything until waaaay after christmas. F2P hoooraah!!!

2 buddies of mine uninstalled. Both started playing a few weeks before the nerf. Neither feels like playing anymore with the daunting grind ahead.

I feel for them. I have my mech stable, but I'd hate to start fresh now... I'd uninstall also truth be told.

Careful what you wish for... The most likely reaction from the devs reading this "OH SNAP NOW WE NEED TO NERF XP!"
