There's been 2 problems in the 12 man queue.

1. Not enough teams.

2. Too many assault mechs (which probably helps cause number 1).

So as an incentive to decrease drop weights, and reward team play and the time required to set up and execute these matches, I want to recommend an under-bidders bonus.

How it would work is the total drop tonnage of the two teams are compared, regardless of elo or any other nonsense. Cap wins disqualify the bonus to keep teams from trying to zerg rush.
Example:

Team A 800 tons, Team B 950 tons:

Team A wins, all enemy mechs destroyed: 950-800= 150 tons under weight bonus:

So the question is... how much? I think this would have to be tested on the test server ;-)
I'd start with 1,000 * tonnage surplus of the loser goes to each member of the winning team.

What I hope happens is that teams that are used to playing obese don't get as many rewards, so they reduce the number of highlanders, atlai etc. gradually trying to underbid the other teams in their Queue.

This could also add some important features for community warfare... batchalls and all that good stuff down the road :-)

Long Live MWO.
