Hey mech warriors,
I really really really hate the group up and camp/mob push strategy of pugs and all the corps I've worked with.
Are any groups out there working with a hammer+anvil multi lance combat over the "group everyone into a phalanx and snipe for 5 min" meta?

Not in the pugs (yes I'm captain Obvious here) but we are working on that stragtegy in scrimmage drops against other companies. And like war everywhere, it's easier to plan then execute. No plan survives the first shot.

The 'Everybody Hug' strat drives me insane. Then an enemy light wanders in and your team more or less kills itself.

Jin-Roh does this with our 4-Mans. We're in the midst of a rebuilding phase, so we aren't running 12s as often as we used to do. That being said, we typically let the Pugs do whatever they want to do (otherwise it's like herding cats) and then we use them like an anvil with us playing the hammer. Typically, we try for a flanking maneuver if we have the speed, otherwise we let the Pugs mix it up with the enemy team, and then come down on all of them once it's a mob. Think of the latter like two anvils clattering down a slope with us running along behind and shooting the red anvil.

Ya that sounds like a good play, but with PUGs they like to follow the most organised group.
