This happened to me 2 times now. I play the game, then exit. When I try to play again, it says it needs to patch. Okay, I click patch and it wants to download 2.5 gigs of data, which I assume is the entire game. But I already have the game installed, if that wasn't clear enough. I ran the fixer thing, didn't help. The first time I deleted the game, let it download an install, it was fine for a while. Except the download didn't stop at 2400/2400 MB, it went on 2500/2400 and so on. The timer just went into negative time... So I stopped it, reopened the patcher several times until it finally started installing.

I deleted the contents of the mwo update folder, and that seems to work. The next time I opened the patcher, it didn't want to patch the game, and I could play.

Same here, apparently. I am currently downloading 2.5GB of a "patch".

My suggestion would be lets start from the beginning Do a complete fresh install, that means uninstall the game go Programs and files located on c drive delete anything to do Mechwarrior if got ccleaner do a clean up with that. Now do a clean install.
once that's done let the game Patch 2.5 GB.

Just to explain what you both re having problems with first of this game will always be coming out with new patches also because were still in the beta stage.

Whats happening is the game downloads the patches and then it will install them check the message top of progress bar on what its doing hope this helps guy suggestion is just leave it and let it do its patching or you will lend up corrupting game files and nothing will work hence why suggest clean install.

I am having this same issue, Patching caused me to totally reinstall the game, over the original copy, every time i stopped playing closed the program and restarted i would have to patch and reinstall totally. i am now trying a total uninstall and then a reinstall. i will post an edit to this if that solved the problem.

It seems the game is installing into a new directory. the Game was located on C:\Games\Pirana Games\ it is now wanting to install to Program files directory,. thta may be the issue. i already deleted and reinstalled.. but maybe someone who is having this issue currently can just move the contents of the c:\games\piranan games\ over to the new location of Program files and then restart the game, MAYBE that would work, worth a try,

Given for me it only takes 30 minutes to fully download and install from nothing others might have slower internet speed and this can cause longer download times and ruin what was going to be a great day of blasting people with lasers..lol

Reinstall via patch just happened to me as well. I'll it go once and if that doesn't work do a total uninstall/reinstall.

I'm getting the same, I've downloaded the whole patch, completely deleted the game and re downloaded and it just keeps happening and I and getting really really annoyed with it now,

Sent an email for support but only got an automated message back saying they are looking into my problem.

Come on! i really want to play but this is the 4th time now!

Just copied everything into a new folder and it now seems to be fine!

the patcher is putting it in your temp files. when you shut down and the temp files get cleared, so does the game. you have to redirect it to another spot, or just copy it to another spot yourself to make it permanent. the system has never forced ppls computers to save in a special location and it needs too.

Thank for the replies everyone. Since I deleted the MWO update folder contents it seems to work fine.
