My Ilya runs 3 ML + 3 LB-10X AC. Now you use YOUR imagination and imagine what that does to your face.

I have 4 Cataphracts and none of them use PPC + Gauss.

Murometz with dual Gauss and three Mlas. I don't need imagination when I give Badaphract 2 PPC 1 Gauss pilots a run for their Cbills.

probably more than this post took.

My Ilya MurderMetz runs 2 AC10, 2 Medium Lasers and a 340XL. And it's probably killed you several times.

But have fun QQing, mighty Forum-Warrior.

A favorite loadout of mine, though with a smaller engine and an extra ML or two. +1 to spite PPC noskill cheese builds.

tried it like that. I find the higher speed and lower heat without the 3rd laser to be ideal. Plus the 105 rounds of ammo is kinda nice for long matches. Trying to replicate it in my Jager for the higher arm location.

Gotta love the 4X dakka, pity the jagermech came along and ruined the fun.

I have to admit I do have a severe lack of imagination when it comes to my 3D *cringe, don't hit me*

Anyway keep em going, I have a spare slot and I want another cataphract again, and looking for interesting build (that don't involve ilya)

Quite a fan of the lasering 1x tho.

Back in the good old times by 1X hat 2LPL and 3 LL. I loved this thing.
Now it packs AC10, 2LL, 2MPL and an XL325
My 2x packs 2SRM4, 1 AC10 and 3LL with an XL300

Believe it or not, but varied loadouts are FUN.

And I have to say I don't use PPCs all that much because I hate the sound of them. Its a cool sound if you hear it once every now and then, but hearing it 10 times in 5 seconds by all the other mechs when you are in a combat really gets on my nerves.

Virtually nothing, sadly.

Seriously why are you using LBX when it's trash-tier gear, at least the AC/10 does somewhat respectable damage.

On that Ilya build, it actually can't afford the extra 3tons/crits required.

It's possible to swap it to 2 AC/10s and a UAC/5 though.

It's awesome, especially when you can literally "jump" the enemy. Tourmaline and Canyon are prime maps here, but you can even do it on alpine.
Must be terrifying for the opponent ^^

Don't really see why you would single the cataphract out for this treatment. I've seen mechs ranging from the dragon (a personal favorite of mine for 2ppc+guass) to miseries running 2ppc+guass. Yeah the combo is super cheesy, but its by no means unique to cataphracts, and Id much rather have a cataphract on my team running it over a victor or misery taking the extra tonnage.

victor or highlander does the job better.
to me the 3d is much easier to kill.

Well, I sold all my Phracts except the 3D, but aside from the obvious 2PPC+Gauss, had great fun with the following (engines mostly 280/300 STD or XL 325 / 340, or you can go extreme with 275 std and stripping armor from arms if you want to make it a stick):

3 PPC + 340 XL JJ back before Ghost heat,
4 ML AC20/Gauss + STD 280/300 JJ,
4 ML 2x AC10 + JJ
4 ML 2x UAC5 + JJ
2 LL 2 ML AC 10 +JJ
2x Gauss + some ML + JJ
AC20+ERPPC+2 ML + JJ Jump-brawling with this (with STD engines mind you) was one of the most exhilarating experience for me
On the other hand never had great success with 4 LL or pulse lasers in CTF.

So there are more options than 2xPPC+Gauss, they just take some more effort to make these builds work.
The CTF arms/shoulders are one of the best for torso-twisting shielding in the game.
Pair it with the high-mounted torso weapon slots and you got a monster of a mech.
Also, the bird legs make it pretty unique. CTF <3 : D .

I run Gauss + 2 x LPL on my CTF-3D. Decent jump sniper and vicious point defense against lights / mediums (all those weapons on the arms = excellent precision for exploiting weak spots)

My Ilya is pretty close to stock... AC10, 2 x AC5 and 3 x ML. Tried 3 x UAC5 but I can't deal with the constant jamming.

I went with the 4X for my third 'phract. Eh.. it's ok. I tend to do shitloads of damage but die / lose more often.

All these have DHS and Endo

And then I blow it up from 100m in a sniper config.
