I'm sometimes a bit frustrated by crazy moves of new players, so I hope this will help some people.

1. Mech build and playing style. When I build a mech, I try to keep it simple. I try to avoid Information Overload when playing. For example, a 2 erppc + Gauss misery works very well, but the same build with 3 medium lasers works less in my experience. This is because you will have to play 2 different playing styles now. Also, the 3 medium lasers are bad for heat, and so the ppc gauss combo will work much less. With medium lasers added, you'll want to move up close, but that's something you want to avoid with ppc gauss build. Weapons taken to the battlefield, are almost always used in the heat of battle. Lasers combined with ppcs I find don't work well. Don't make things to complicated.

2. Cover & Enemy Line Of Fire. Know the maps well, and use cover to you advantage. When coming out of cover, do it rather carefully, avoiding that you run into the line of fire of two or three or more mechs. Getting out of cover and firing (doing 40 damage or so), but taking 100 damage from 3 mechs is a bad action. But if the three mechs are already engaged by two other mechs of your team, coming out of cover for a shot is a good action, because you will sometimes not get hit at all or only by one mech. Overall, but not as a rule, and action is good if you do more damage to an enemy than an enemy or multiple enemies do to you.

3. Map positioning and understanding team placement. Overall as a golden rule except for lights, you will want to stand close to the main force of your team. Being in the front of the team attracts more fire, but can work well sometimes. Other times, let teammates engage first, and then come second and unleash your firepower. A team made out of two groups on the map can work well, unless they are seperated by too much meters. The enemy consisting of one main body will first kill one group, and then, before the friendly second group can react, the large group will kill them secondly. Don't get seperated too much.

4. Aim & Accuracy. For overall improved results, improve your aim. Lasers are totally different from ACs or PPCs. You'll get much better damage scores and more kills.

5. Pinpoint & Spread Damage. Pinpoint damage ppc, gauss, and ac20 and 10 do. Other weapons do more spread damage, spreading damage over arms, torsos, and sometimes legs. Overall, if you have a mostly spread damage weapon like a large laser, still try to do as much pinpoint damage as you can. Generally go for the CT with any weapon, but taking out an arm works very well to. Also, if you have 20 armor on the back, use it to absorp some shots, or when you're heat is high, make a 360 twist so you can cool of and keep damage away from your front.

That's it maybe I'll add some more later.
