Ok, I have some MC that I need help spending and I am thinking about going with a Mastery Pack because they are a really good deal. I am a light pilot and have a hangar full of light mechs so I am thinking mediums or heavies to help round out my drop deck for CW. I also have Centurions and Shadowhawks. These are the Packs that I am considering/can afford:
Blackjack
Cicada
Hunchback
Kintaro
Quickdraw
So which pack should I go with? I like the idea of the Cicadas, but I am not sure any of them are worth owning beside the ECM variant so that makes me hesitant to spend real $ on them.
I appreciate all opinions, but anything that costs more than 6590 MC is out of the question.
Thanks!

Help, This Mc Is Burning A Hole In My Pocket!

if you enjoyed lights, cicadas are similar, the 3M is nice, but x5 and 2B perform better.
BJ's are kinda nice (pun) but the quirks for the Arrow and the 1 are kinda ankward. The Arrow works best with LPLas and MG's but got AC/20 quirks.. the 1 which was the best AC/20 carrier got ac2 quirks instead. My favorite is the 3 with MPLas, works best for me.
Hunchies would be my favorite, the 4G is an insane AC/20 carrier. 4P is a beast with MLas or SPLas. GRID IRON with it's Gauss quirks is fancy too.

Blackjack or Cicada, they are the most ready upgrade-wise from those.
Others need serious c-bill investment to be viable.

Thanks I was already leaning cicada or blackjack so that really helps me narrow it down to those two... Now to pick which one
(I am horribly indecisive, forgive me)

Id go for the hunchies personally but its up to you.
The 4G is one of my favourite and best mechs with an AC20. I've not tried the GI but it looks fun, plus the other hunchies are very versatile.
Cicada's are good, and a fun mech so that would be my second choice.
Blackjacks.... meh, need a lot of piloting skill and patience imo, plus they are very squishy.

I vote Cicada. It's a low profile mech, much like a light, and it behaves like a light. The 3M is a great mech for CW, I like an XL260 with twin LPL in mine (it has my best match statistics of any mech). You could go dual ERPPC, but I find it too hot. Or you go go with the quirks and do large+med lasers. The X-5 will be a great mech for public queue matches.
Every light pilot should own Cicadas. =]

I really love the cicada's but i never played the hero,, I also love my HBK's, But you do have cents and shadow hawks, which i think are kinda similar in many regards.. though the HBK's do have more LRM capability.
I have been thinking about trying blackjacks, but have no experience with them, but the arrow does look like fun. They are mobile, if a bit squishy at least from me trying to kill them
I wish i played the cicada hero, because if i liked it, i would say, go witht hem hands down.. the quirks are great,, and they are really fast/fun mechs. Stuff in an XL-300 and get ready to have fun!
The cicada pack, also has i think 2 nice XL-engines if i am not mistaken.. so that right there is a big plus.

So Cicadas it is. Mostly because I am better in locusts than centurions but It takes 8 locusts to reach the minimum drop weight in CW so the answer is. . .buy bigger locusts.
And then there is the video. . .
