Frankly, I'm sick and tired of all the capping that is going on. Especially with the introduction of Terra Therma, where every other match turns into a cap-fest.

This game needs a new game mode, preferably one that promotes mech vs mech combat instead of flagging an ugly oil rig (or whatever it is supposed to be). Alternatively (if you are hell bent on keeping the capture system) there could be only one base, capturable by both teams, on an equal distance from both "bases".

Those rigs are the most uncool thing about the game. I try to ignore them totally :P . Also i think since this is beta they are focusing on mech combat and speeds and balance. I hope they add alot more depth after launch to the battle fields.

They needed a way to avoid the "hunt the last shutdown spider that JJ'd onto a tall building" situation. That's the only reason they have the base capping.

Personally it would be more awesome if you actually had to blow up the other base and it had its own defenses... but, like Johnny Z said, they're probably keeping it simple to refine the simulation right now.

I don't see the problem with a shut down coward, so what, if he's the only one left and there's 10 minutes left in the battle then so be it. It's a tie, or a victory for the other team if they have even 1 more mech on the field. Maybe the matches should be decided by kills, and secondly damage so that there isn't a great chance of a tie.
