We all get angry sometimes and lash out but lets take a second to remember to be nice to each other.

One of the many great quotes from that article

"I have approximately 70 messages on Xbox Live right now and half of them are, 'I'm going to kill you' and 'I'm going to find you and destroy you' "

edit for good quote

I still maintain, it's a game - if it makes you actually, truly, legitimately angry... step away for a bit. You're in too deep. If a game isn't fun, stop playing it. If a game is fun, play it. I think that the level of passion for this game (MWO) is what causes the player base to be *SO*.... "enthusiastic" in their criticisms. Most don't realize that shouting and making threats just gets you ignored. Thanks for the link, OP.

I agree, take european football, its wildly popular, they call it the beautifull game, alot of fun to play, and no one ever gets upset if their team loses a match.

LOL Johnny.

If the game devs treated players with respect and not like children, this amount of rage would not exist.

Oh, and furthermore, if they were not doing anything WRONG they would not feel bad about it.

If someone screams at you to stop firing your donkey shot into a room full of crowded hibiscus, you would not get mad, because you are not DOING IT.

If they scream at you to stop !@#$ing their favorite game for the love of stupidity and you ARE... well... GUILT WILL AFFECT YOU.

There will always be scum everywere, that doen't take away the right from normal people to disagree
Also this come from avtivion about COD, the best selling game of the generation so if 5% of people are punks imagine how many panks are playing COD.

Sometimes when I see your signature (it's on other peoples account) I ignore it... (like i literally click the little X, and click "ignore so-and-so's signature)
It really makes me wonder what the devs think about it, and it makes me wonder the difference between what you hope for it to achieve, and what it actually is doing.
I think mocking or making fun of the company or developers is this harassment issue in it's infancy. It's small poke, but poke turns into a harder poke when they ignore the first one...

I'm just using your sig as an example, and what it makes me think about, and other things in general that people have said in feedback threads and threads they create... It makes me sad.

Touching on your topic about the right for normal people to disagree - there's a right way and a wrong way to disagree. That difference isn't so well known in this community.

That really is an interesting read, something for everyone in that article. Gotta wonder why people think they can act in such a disgusting manner to other people.

Internet culture.... it's really complicated.

In general, it has alot to do with the missing direct interaction with people. The same thing as what you can hear from fighter pilots who destroy planes, instead of killing the pilots in them. Once you loosen up on the human factor, a lot of morals everyone is taught from birth stop applying, altough they should not.

If the game devs treated players with respect

You are asking for respect when you give none. You and your pointless ilk STARTED this nonsense in the closed beta by crying and yelling as loud as you could on the forums because they were just testing a range of repair costs and rewards to work out the system. You and your ilk abused the system which led to bad numbers, and cried when repair costs became too high. When winning became too hard, you and your ilk cried on the forums until they nerfed friendship because playing with your friends isnt something every game has allowed since 2000 /sarcasm.

In short, the small squeeky wheel of the playerbase which is complaining about not being respected, has done NOTHING to earn respect and has continued to act like spoiled children, resulting in a game company that looks for other avenues of input for their game rather than the one place they should be able to do that.

Get lost.

A little satir never hart anyone, it's not herassment. The point of this sig is for the developers to see that they are doing something wrong.

The real meta is that people spend more time QQ in game chat, on the forums, then practicing to get better. To balance this game, the real balance, is for players to QQ less and play more.
